we begin tonight with a developing story out of sunnyvale where a body was found in a front yard this morng body was discovered around 10:30 this morning near pome avenue. police were call ed to the area and then discovered a garbage bag near the sidewalk. they said they saw blood coming from the bag and a body inside it. they called the coroner who is trying to identify the body and cause of death. it is being investigated as a murder. we will bring you more as soon as we learn it from sunnyvale either later in this newscast or at 11:00. farther north, police are investigating a shooting death of a 3-month-old boy. he was strapped in his parent's car when someone began shooting. kimberly? >> reporter: east palo alto police say they believe the shooting was targeting. they say the suspects walked right up to the car and started firing. that family is from redwood city and they are just leaving a baby shower before 1:00 this morning. they just got into the car when police say the shooting happened. a 3-month-old baby boy was shot and killed. his parents were seriously injured, but are

officers trail, peregoy, and obot were in the trip same vehicle as they reached the 1700 block of sunnyvale ave. they were flagged down by a citizen who stated, they are shooting up there right now. as they pointed west on sunday dale avenue, instantly, the officers looked west and saw the suspect armed with an uzi-type assault weapon on the 1800 block. the officers saw the suspect had the weapon in both hands and was firing in the direction of a crowd of people. as the suspect fire the weapon, numerous people began running in various directions. officers could hear the shots being fired and could see smoke coming from the weapon. the suspect fired at least -- approximate three to four shots and then fired in the air. officer trail broadcast over the radio shots fired and a suspect description as numerous units responded. officers pulled up to the suspect, at which point the suspect notice the officers, and while fully armed, began running from the officers westbound on sunday dale avenue. officer obot pursue the suspect on foot while officers peregoy and trailed initially pursued from thei
