sunnyvale to san mateo. it is a 21 minute commute.nd then lastly, we've got 8.80, san jose over to milpitas coming in at 10 minutes. send it over to you. >> michael, thank you. 7.46, the time. look at this 20 years ago, nasa's hubble telescope captured this stunning image of the galaxy 30 million light years away from earth. it's called the sombrero galaxy because it kind of resembles the shape of that mexican hat. and yeah. well, now with the help of the james webb telescope, look at this. some very, advanced equipment on board is giving us a clear look at that galaxy and in it we can see an inner disk instead of the glowing core that gave its name. so that was the old picture. now here's the new one. wow. yeah, the center. i should say that right there in the very middle is a massive black hole that sort of gobbling up material in that galaxy. but pretty impressive how the new space telescope up there is giving us much clear pictures of what used to be stunning images from hubble like when you upgrade your laptop. all it's that tv.

this is in sunnyvale now. a photographer shot this about an hour ago.s is near lawrence expressway and east wayne avenue. meteorologist kari hall is here, of course, this morning. and, kari, you've been monitoring all this. and we talked about this yesterday. just how long are we expecting all of this to last? is going to be drifting around. and so it may hang out with us until about 9:00 this morning. in some spots, it's been the south bay that's really had the worst of that fog down to a quarter mile or less. and all of these areas highlighted in that light blue color are in the dense fog advisory. and many of our valleys and visibility in oakland now down to less than a quarter of a mile, a 10th of a mile there, and in santa rosa, a quarter of a mile, as well as low visibility in concord. but here's a look at walnut creek, where it's clear. and much of the east bay into the tri-valley is starting out clear. it's in the low 40s. a cold start, and as it clears up throughout t day, we're going to see those temperatures heading up into the upper 50s and

and the man who went on a deadly shooting rampage at a sunnyvale tech company 36 years ago is expected his death sentence reduced to life in prison today. back in 1988, richard farley killed seven former coworkers at esl incorporated shortly after he was fired from the company. investigators determined he was stalking a woman there and was furious. after she served him with a restraining order. santa clara county district attorney jeff rosen has been in the process of reducing the sentences of more than a dozen death row inmates, from death to life, with no chance of parole. today, a vigil will be held for the two students that were hurt in that school shooting in butte county. butte county sheriff is identifying the victims as five year old elias wolford and six year old roman mendez. the two were kindergartners attending feather river adventist school. this is where that shooting took place. officials adding that the two are fighting for their lives. they have a very long road ahead of them in terms o recovery. it's very likely that they are going to have to have a number of surgerie
