-- at sunset. >> no. we are proposing one of the safe materials. whether that is cork or sand or carpet pad. there are four others that are not toxic. supervisor olague: you mentioned the 15,000 watts of additional light would have severe impact and the eir does not adequately address that issue. kennedy more specific on how you felt -- can you be more specific on how you felt the eir was not adequate enough in that respect? >> this project would put 60 foot tall white standards, 10 of them with 150,000 watts of lighting. that is 60 feet, is six stories high so it would dwarf the mid -- windmills and trees. the irs concludes the lighting is insignificant which is an absurd in an area that is a dark sky area. it is pitch black out there except for the beach alley itself. we hired lighting expert lumino consulting. they concluded the eir failed to consider fog scatter impact spread when light hits fog, it scatters in all directions. the city has proposed to reduce the light impact by putting blinders around

[laughter] since i'm also in the sunset area, living in sunset. another question to me is the adu program. and the funding because we've had a lot of discussion about how to robust the adu program and you know, i guess this is more of my curiosity in terms, like, what kind of an assessment we have had in terms of the funding that it would take to really have a good adu program and how accessible it is, yeah. >> that's a good question. we might need to do a little bit more analysis, preliminary assessment was to open the opportunities for low-income homeowners who, as you know, have not been part of the accessory dwelling units, the adu program. we have seen a very successful implementation in many multifamily housing buildings but for some of these families, it was out of reach so hearing from the middle to low-income households in the sunset, not only they were interested but in many cases and supervisor mar can remind if i'm correct, they were interested in renting those units, affordable units so understanding the needs of the community and fig

we have community groups in the sunset.y have formed out of response to concern of public safety in the neighborhood and i think that generally speaking the sunset district has lower crime levels than many of the other parts of the city. however, because we are bordering ocean beach and golden gate park, we do have pockets of problem areas. and, so, our neighbors are the first to alert us and the police station when there are issues and the police has been very responsive to that. >> what kind of issues are you having with ocean beach or golden gate park? >> i think that because it's so far from the center of the city and because there is so much open space, we do see a lot of encampments in those areas. some neighbors express issues with safety and feeling safe in their neighborhood and, so, they have worked very closely with our terraville station to make sure they monitor those regularly. >> what are your thoughts on the city's economic development? >> so, in terms of economic development, i think our city is in a very,
