in sussex county delaware, we have an inch to an inch 1/2. the farther south you go the better chance of 3 inches of accumulation by lunchtime. in philadelphia, less than that. but hey, a little bit on the roads can get you slipping and sliding, so slow down when you see that. in south jersey and delaware we'll have 1 to 3 inches with spots going to 4. less than that up north. we want you to use caution as the light snow begins to build in. slow it down and watch for slick spots as the snow comes down. temperatures are cold enough to support the snow. 28 in philadelphia. 30 in wilmington, 29 in millville. so untreated surfaces where the snow hits will have the tendency to take it on. 16 degrees is the current windchill in philadelphia. colder on the way to school, kids. 24 degrees by 8:00 a.m. high of 30 degrees by 3:00 p.m. again, the snow happening now in south jersey, but tapering off across the region as soon as lunchtime. >> reporter: we have a camera on the main artery coming into the city from south jersey. 42, we can see the salt crew

we already have a winter weather advisory in effect starting at 10:00 o'clock tonight for sussex county delawareat's the only county with the advisory so far. wouldn't be surprised if cape may county ended up being included in that, but this will be in effect through about 1:00 in the afternoon on thursday. and here's the future cast to show you why. by 4:00, 5:00 in the morning we've got snow spreading into southern delaware, and that the jersey shore and it is starting to accumulate couple every inches, as well. so, it is with us through the morning, the question is: will this move far enough north to affect us in the philadelphia metro area? and we'll have to see what happens. it depends on exact track of the storm. it is southern storm. so more precipitation expected to the south than to the north. right now we're not expecting much to happen in the philadelphia area during the morning commute tomorrow. but having said that, there could be areas where it is pretty slippery on thursday morning. and as far as the snow, that is coming, south and east every us, we think maybe coating to 2 inches

and we are still expecting to see periods of heavy snow in portions of kent county and sussex county delaware and moving into the shore communities. and it's going to be snowing later in the morning in these areas while north and west the snow comes to an end. that's one of the reasons you'll end up with more snow in those areas. temperatures across the board are cold in the teens or below this morning. look at camden at 12 degrees. audubon at 13 right now. and 12 degrees in voorhees. that cold is insuring that the entire storm system is only snow for our area. so central and southern delaware, anywhere from five as little as five inches of snow. but potentially in some areas up to nine inches to include cape may county. go farther to the north, you can see less snowfall with a few inches on the ground. four to seven inches in these areas. for well mington, philadelphia, trenton, two to four inches. there could be some spots within the zone to get a little less or more, but on average i think we are on target for that. north and west, we are at the lehigh valley to bucks county one to three i

and look at sussex county in delaware. this is where we're going to see the heaviest snow potentially three to six inches for southern delaware. and at 10:00 this morning, snow is still coming down. steadiest, heaviest snow still in delaware and south jersey. we'll see scattered light snow showers over the philadelphia area. but by 11:00, those snow showers taper off by noontime the snow is starting to thin out in new jersey. by 1:00 this afternoon, this one is pretty much done. so stand by for some light snow. even philadelphia could see a dusting in some areas north and west. maybe up to half an inch but that's about it. the heavier snowfall delaware and south jersey. the weekend, we've got sunshine for saturday and we'll start with sunshine on sunday. the clouds will be increasing. and late sunday sunday evening, there's a chance that we'll see some snow and some rain. and that won't be the end of it. seven-day forecast when i'm back in ten. i know you didn't want to hear that. >> that was kind of a teaser right there.

cape may, southern cumberland, southern atlantic counties, and then across into kent and sussex counties in delaware, yes, ma'am, you get the sweet spot for the heaviest of the snow this time around. although it is pretty tight gradient in terms of amounts for our area. might just be one county over even part of the county over where you see the difference between 3 inches. so what are we dealing with here? it is really just going to be the super light powdery fluffy snow thankfully not terribly wind driven, that shouldn't be an issue in terms of the visibility, but because it is coming down so steadily, that will reduce your visibility, and also, it is going to accumulate so quickly. so that's the fluff factor as we call it, simply because your ratio is a lot larger, in other words, you can accumulate that much more based on the amount of liquid that's in the air. now, as far as temperatures go, oh yes, you are cold enough for snow. like there is no possibility of us seeing any knicking this time everyone below freezing, substantially so. so it is still cold outside. but, thankfully, not as winnie
