sylvia burwell underlined the importance of subsidies for people in states using the federal exchange. subsidies that could be withdrawn if the supreme court rules against the obama administration in a pending case. administration officials suggest more than seven million people would lose subsidies making insurance uneap -- unaffordable. the plaintiffs contend that the affordable care act does not allow subsidies in the federal exchange. in florida 1.6 million people have selected or been automatically reenrolled in health plans the largest enrollment of any state in the federal exchange. and 1.5 million of them qualified for subsidies in the form of tax credits which average about $300 a month. in texas 1.2 million people selected were reenrolled in health plans and one million of them qualified for finance assistance averaging $239 a month. in north carolina, 560,000 people selected health plans in the federal marketplace and -- i'm sorry 515,000 qualified for subsidies averaging about $300 a month. mr. president, a lot rides on what the supreme court does. one of the things riding

president john sylvia was asked whether he thought 3% was over the top. >> me personally yeah i thinkbly too aggressive. in terms of the long-term trend growth of the u.s. economy. i think two and a half two and three-quarters is probably what it is, and that's based upon as you know the fund memtss which is the productivity growth and labor force growth. >> now, here is what we reported last hour. first quarter tracking. these use incoming data to adjust the gdp forecast. down 0.4% on those weak spend and income numbers. sorry. strong income, weak spending numbers this weekend. down 1.4%. one economist even saying that growth could be flat this quarter. the street estimating february pay roles grew 248,000 on the month. you have to think, whatever hurting the u.s. economy, the jobs number i don't think will be immune. if you want to know what that jobs report is, you're going to have to tune into cnbc on good friday, and i will be there. i think along with my buddy joe kernan. we're going to be doing the lord's work as you know reporting the jobs number. >> it will be a good friday.

health and human services secretary sylvia mathews burwell told us that the administration has no administrativet would do in the event of an unfavorable decision by the supreme court. in fact, the administration declined to warn americans enrolling this year on what could happen if the supreme court found that the administration was illegally providing subsidies. mr. president, clearly the millions of americans who could lose their health care premium subsidy thanks to the administration's abuse of its authority need a solution. republicans have been working on solutions. the junior senator from nebraska has put forward a plan to use the 1985 cobra law to extend temporary health care assistance to these americans for 18 months. other republicans -- senator hatch from utah, senator alexander from tennessee senator barrasso have offered their plan to provide temporary effective assistance to americans while they recover the loss of the subsidies. the chairman of the house ways and means energy and commerce and education and the workforce committees released a road map for replacing obamacare with
