news4's megan mcgrath joins us from the tacoma metro station with more. >> reporter: there has been a very detailed, methodical investigation. i they're three months into it. investigators still have not pinpointed the exact cause of june's deadly collision. however, they do continue to focus their attention on track circuits. ntsb investigators are particularly concerned about a possible design flaw in audio frequency track circuit systems. that system sent a false signal that prevented a stopped tin to be detected on the track moments before the deadly collision. the ntsb has issued urgent recommendations, not just to metro, but to transit agencies around the country that use that same technology. debbie hersman with the ntsb says, quote, our findings so far indicate a pressing need to issue these recommendations to immediately address safety glitches we have found that could lead to another tragic accident on another transit or rail system. metro officials meanwhile say they have already put some safety measures in place. >> we're operating in manual m

folks who are forced to deal with delays on the way downtown between tacoma and fort totten stations.lace where the metro accident happened three months ago. ntsb says there is a pressing need to address safety glitches that could lead to another tragic accident. we're told the investigation is far from over. the national transportation safety board is working to figure out why the metro crash near the fort totten metro crash in june. investigators have new information on the signal system that was supposed to tell the colliding train to stop. the system failed that day. the findings revealed those signaling circuits told the train the track was clear. the equipment did not signal to slow or top the approach -- stop the approaching train. nine were killed and 80 injured. now four organizations are looking over urgent recommendations just issued by the ntsb. >> the ntsb recommends that we examine track circuits. >> reporter: the concerns about the circuits are nothing new. metro says it continues to check them twice a day and take other measures. >> the trains have been operated in man

chris gordon joins us live from the tacoma metro station with more on the story. chris? >> reporter: well, some people say it's like having big brother watching over you, an invasion of privacy, but others say there should be no expectation of privacy, and it's a small price to pay if it makes metro safer. the department of homeland security is giving metro $78 million to keep a close eye on suspicious activities. >> only half the me rho's buses are currently equipped with cameras on board. the gra from homeland security provides money for all buses to carry cameras. metro rail stations have surveillance cameras, but there are none on any of the trains. the grant money will allow metro to install cameras on all metro cars, and soon monitor all buses. >> that makes me feel a lot safer riding, because in light of the recent accident and homeland security issues, i think i feel safer. >> i would feel more secure, and i this i that if nothing should be hidden. if someone wants to high, they can catch them on the camera. >> metro says the cameras are not meant for face recogn
