good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam.l early on in this investigation so we are waiting for police to release more details but we have been told that temple university student was sexually assaulted and robbed on this street here overnight. you can see police have cleared the scene but they were out here earlier after she called them. this happened on the 1400 block of north carlisle in north philadelphia, just south of campus, a block from broad street. this is just outside the patrol area for temple police. what exactly happened remains under investigation. we just know the victim is a temple student and that police say the suspect was armed when he sexually assaulted and robbed her. she managed to call philadelphia police who immediately notified the special victims unit. they're handling this investigation. temple did put out a text alert and alerts on social media. police have not disclosed the victim's age or the condition that she's in or said what was taken from her. again, this is still early in this investigatio

. >> reporter: go to work, matt and tam, crews have been working since the papal event ended. it took a week to put it up, and now you can see they are still work. there's remnants of the event on the parkway. jumbotrons, pallets of water. down the street that's where a security checkpoint was, the metal detecters are no longer there, but there's a lot of debris in the street and a lot of that needs to be cleared. crews around center city all the security fencing that went up, now must come down, they have to take down all the barriers from the weekend. as that is happening they will see more and more roads opening back up, some are open, but there's a lot of ground to cover. penndot was able to reopen 76 last night. the vine street expressway is open, but ramps are closed. there's trash pick up that needs to be done around the area. there's a lot of debris left behind from the crowds. hundreds of thousands packed the parkway, with so many people that means a lot of stuff left behind. by way of traffic we're seeing forklifts driving along the parkway. every now and then a car

good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam.hat's right, these are two major events while the pope is in town. the tickets are first come first served four per person and when these events happen both will be taking place on the ben franklin parkway. this parkway will be crowded with people. the festival of families which will feature a concert and appearance by the pope takes place that saturday and of course there's a papal mass from the steps of the art museum. later today more free tickets will be made available to two papal events. first, at 4:00 p.m. today, 10,000 tickets will be released for the festival of families which takes place saturday the twenty sixth on the ben franklin parkway. then this evening at 8:00 p.m., 10,000 tickets will be made available for the papal mass on sunday the 27th. also on the parkway. yesterday 10,000 tickets to see the pope at independence mall were snatched up in less than two minutes. soon, what were free tickets were found for sale on ebay and craigslist. some as high as a thousand dolla

. >> reporter: good morning, tam. bell ringing ceremony is going to be taking place here at the high school another couple hours as students are being welcomed back here to the high school and at schools across the chester-upland district today. and these teachers are returning not knowing when they're going to get their next paycheck. last week teachers and support staff in this perennially cash strapped district voted to keep working even though the district wasn't going to be able to make payroll on september 9. the vote came after a judge rejected a financial recovery plan that would cut funding to special education students at charter schools in the district. the chester up lands school district has been in and out of financial trouble for 25 years and is currently under state control. teachers say a big part of the ongoing financial troubles here is the state funding formula and what the district is required to pay charter schools. about half the students in the district attend charter schools. under the rules e

no delay just yet, matt and tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. >>> some breaking news now.ladelphia police are on the case of a reported robbery and assault of a temple university student. it happened off campus just few hours ago. katherine scott is live at the scene in north philadelphia. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: goo good morning, tam the. >> reporter: we're still waiting for details from police. all we know is that a temple university student was robbed and sexually assaulted here on this street in north philadelphia. it happened around midnight. that's when police were called on the 1400 block of north carlisle just south of campus. this is just outside the patrol area for temple police. what exactly happened remains under investigation. we just know the victim is a temple university student and the police say the suspect was armed when he he sexually assaulted and robbed her. she managed to call philadelphia police who immediately notified the special victims unit who is handling the investigation. temple did put out a text alert and alerts on social media

getting ready for the papal visit we expect gridlock because of that, and that's just the beginning tam. >> breaking this morning, three masked men broke into a northeast philadelphia home overnight and mother and two children were inside when they ransacked the home. katherine scott is live at the scene on the 2800 block of shipley road. katherine, what's the latest on the story. >> reporter: there was a 33-year-old woman inside she was terrorized after three men broke into the home. her two children ages 2 and ten slept through this none were injured. police were here earlier gathering evidence and dusting for fingerprints. this happened after 1:00 a.m. on shipley near chase in this northeast philadelphia neighborhood. police say a woman was waiting for her husband to come home, she heard a noise in her basement. when she went down to investigate, she found three men wearing masks. they tied the family dog to a pipe in the basement. force the woman in the kitchen and pushed her to the floor and put a towel over her head. >> the male said do not look at us, or we will shoot you. while
