she went missing last night. 9news reporter tarhonda thomas joins us now with more- police sent out an amber alert, overnight. yes, they did. they're concerned for the safety of "this" girl: five- year-old analee keller. police issued an amber alert for the girl, fearing for her safety. they say she's with this woman: lauren perotti- montgomery. police say she's a relative of the child. an officer saw analee in perotti- montgomery's car... when they tried to stop her, last night. that's when -- erradically. she may have been drunk-- according to the police. she got away from officers-- and they're still looking for her.... and the little girl. analee is tiny-- only about three feet tall... weighing 45 pounds. she has brown eyes and blonde hair... ...and was wearing black pants and a glittery grey shirt. perotti- montgomery is five-feet eight-- 130 pounds. she was wearing a green shirt and brown capri pants. the two were in a white ford f-150 pick-up. but police say-- they're not looking for that truck, anymore. take a good lo photos. if you've seen either of the suspect... or the child

tarhonda thomas will be at bear tips -- coming up at 5. and back to school -- means back to homework. kids are getting more and more tech savvy these days -- even when it comes to studying. there's a big market for apps that help with penmanship, math, and science skills. and many students are all over it... cut to teachers use an app called "canvas" - where they post homework and extra study materials. back in june -- toxic chemicals contaminated the drinking water in three southern colorado cities. now - colorado health officials say it's "highly likely" that those chemicals came from fef foam - used at peterson air force base. the chemicals in question don't break down - so boiling the water doesn't do anything. residents in security, widefield and fountain -- all in el paso county - have laregly switched to bottled water. water filters and ground water are also being used. officials have not ruled out additional chemicals, but say the foam - often used in air force training - was the main culprit. a 10 year veteran of the denver police

fort colins has found a little girl who went missing in fort colins last night. 9 news reporter tarhonda thomas has been following the details of this case. tarhonda, they found this girl within the last 15 minutes. >> yes, and you may have been awakened by an amber alert overnight on your phone. after hours girl. the 5-year-old disappeared last night. police say a relative took her. that relative was this woman, 30-year-old lauren perotti- montgomery. she took off, when police tried to pull her over at about 10:00 last night. police say she may have been drunk. investigators had been looking for the trunk that perotti- montgomery was driving but they canceled the search for the truck at 4:30 this morning. by 5:45. they announced that they found the little girl. fort colins police were not the only ones searching for the little girl. also looking. and now, relieving news, she is found safely and the suspect is in custody. >> thanks for the update. good news. >>> good morning, everyone. thanks for joining us. gary, corey, colleen with you, on this friday morning. >> yes. meteorologist marty coni

and now suing the city because of it. 9 news reporter tarhonda thomas is live downtown at the city and county building this morning and this group has even hired an attorney. >> yes, his name is jason flores williams. his name is at the top of the lawsuit that was filed yesterday. we did contact the city of denver, the mayor's office, right here in the city and county building and they say they have not been served with this lawsuit comment on it. i want to break it down and show you what is inside the 36- page document. basically being filed on behalf of nine homeless people. eight men, and one woman. and they allege that the city of denver has policies that treats them unfairly. they say these policies stretch back for a couple of years. and mainly, it was brought to a head, with the homeless sweeps that started happening a few months ago, and in which the city was clearing out sidewalks, and taking away all of the grocery carts and trash bags and things that you see, possessions, and personal property, and even some medical records, of homeless people, who were treated unfairly. and

this after months of treatment and evaluations and 9 news reporter tarhonda thomas is here with more and he has been through this process before. >> yes, he has, corey. the latest competency evaluation for robert dear. he had one to finish up in may which has delayed his trial. and that is because at the time admitted shooter was unfit it to stand trial but the judge wanted to come back in a few months, and re-evaluate the defendant, after receiving mental treatment. that's where today's hearing comes into play. we will find out if he is still unfit to stand trial, or if he is being competent. lots of court outbursts during the trial. and three people died in the attack on the colorado springs planned parenthood last november. the shooter waged the attack in opposite to abortions. a forensic previously determined that the defendant had to receive treatment before the trial could continue. and they will look at the competence hearing and find out where the trial goes from here. >> thanks, tarhonda. >>> when you dial the numbers 911, you know the person on the other end is there to hel

sidewalks of denver are suing the city for its efforts to clear out those sidewalks. 9 news reporter tarhonda thomas is live at the city and county building. and they say that effort and several other city ordinances unfairly target the homeless. >> reporter: as a matter of fact, in this lawsuit, they say for a matter of year, the city of denver has been effectively discriminating against homeless people, telling them to move along and seizing their belonging and this filed yesterday. the city of denver telling 9 news they had not received the lawsuit and weren't served so they couldn't comment. i read the lawsuit top to bottom, nine homeless people, eight men, one woman and they said their items were seized in the homeless sweep that happened a few months ago and said police are treating them unfairly and suing the city of denver and naming the mayor, the police chief, the mayor's chief of staff, the city manager, and so many people, department, so there are a number of people who are named in this lawsuit. and denver public works is what i meant instead of city manager. these lawsuits are treating

tarhonda thomas has the story that has a lot of people in disbelief and the dad is accused of trying to kill his son. the dad is in jail >> he's charged with attempted first-degree murder and other cries. as little isaiah played in a park, his dad thought-ways to kill him. the crash is the plan he came up with, according to police. he crashed his car going 75 own seatbelt but purposely did not buckle isaiah. the toddler ripped a muscle in his neck, injured his head and his knee, and as if those injuries were not enough, after of the crash, he hit his son. the 29-year-old father told police he wanted to kill the boy because he didn't think he was man enough to raise a child. police said he had taken cocaine that day. isaiah's mother is shocked by all of this. she's not married to the man but said they planned the nancy lopez can't believe her son's father would do something so cruel to his own son. >> understand why -- -- how he could do something like this, but -- i'm hoping that isaiah recovers fast and that people pray for us and for my son to get better. >> donors have already giv

. >>> tarhonda thomas is here with more on the justice department's review. people will be surprised to know who made the review. >> reporter: the interim police chief requested the rerue. he, the mayor, and city manager asked the feds to review commerce i police department representatives with the u.s. justice department will be in town. the justice department has a special office, community- oriented policing services or c.o.p.s. for short. a rep will be part of the announcement. over the last year, there have been several embarrassing incidents. one officer is facing criminal charges, accused of inappropriately touching three women during traffic stops. john reinhardt has since resigned. misdemeanor and a felony charge. this officer, kevin lord, pleaded guilty to fake his own shooting. he told investigator he was shot during a traffic stop and identified a suspect in a lineup. lord is no longer with the department. city leaders worry this and other incidents may damage the public's trust in the department. that's why they requested the investigation. these

good morning everyone, i'm gary shapiro with tarhonda thomas. meteorologist marty coniglio joins us. relentless new evacuations in southern louisiana. the destruction is overwhelming. as homeland security secretary jeh johson toured the flood zone thursday -- an editorial was released in n it urges president obama to visit the state. "fema" says more than 80-thousand people have applied for federal help. at least 13 people have died. it's hard for forecasters to keep up with such devastating floods. "that" was the exprience for forecasters here in colorado during the floods of 20-13. but now scientists in boulder are trying to make those forecasts better. the national center for atmospheric research in forecast model for noaa. it could change the way we predict floods across the country. the way the national weather service forecasts floods now, happens based on information from specific sites.. usually on major rivers or waterways. that doesn't always help predict what could happen along smaller waterways. as it did in colorado almost three yea

it's an incident that has witness still shaken up. 9news reporter tarhonda thomas is here with more. tarhonda-- the details are disturbing. father intentionally crashed his car... ...and neighbors say-- that he hit his injured two-year- old son... ...it's hard to imagine. but police maintain-- that's what happened. the crash was last sunday afternoon in centennial. 29-year-old nathan weitzel told police-- he crashed his car "on purpose"--- to kill his son. he didn't "buckle up" two-year-old isiah. and-- police think-- he was driving up to 75 miles per hour-- when he crashed into several cars. an officer says-- weitzel told them he wanted to kill his son... because to raise a child. he admitted to taking cocaine that day, too. little isiah survived the crash. half of his body is in a cast, right now. his mother-- who isn't married ot weitzel-- can't believe he'd try to do such a thing. witnesses to the crash can't believe it either. they also couldn't believe what weitzel apparently did to his son-- after crashing his car. several charges-- including attempted first- degree murder. isi
