thanks for joining us, i'm terry mcsweeney. >> i'm gia vang. october weather is starting to set in with a frost advisory now in effect. >> rob mayeda joins us now, and how low will it go in. >> for some areas, 30s, it looks like. the frost advisory just went into effect around the bay air. these areas in blue over my shoulder which includes much of the tri valley and north valley locations. it will be the wind-sheltered valleys that will be affected. the air is mixed enough to keep 50s for much of the bay area. but we're beginning to see wind speeds come down in the interior, east bay and south bay. and with the cool dry air in place that's going to set the stage for a few select areas, the wind-sheltered valleys dipping into the 30s. so patchy frost could be a part of your monday morning. by next weekend, chances of seeing more sierra snow and shower chances getting closer to the bay area. we'll have a look at the changes ahead in our forecast. >>> colder temperatures are moving into the bay area. and that has advocates concerned about the unh

. >> i'm terry mcsweeney. a fire in the hills. >> coastal areas under a wind advisory until 9:00 tonight. pg&e saying it will turn our power to a handful of customers in the extreme north bay. starting tomorrow morning. to prevent their power lines from starting a wild fire. >> not just wind, but snow. you are looking at video from palisades tahoe today. yep. the sierra ski resort getting a dusting of snow. and tonight, we have team coverage on this weather. we start with meteorologist rob mayeda. >> the peak of the wind seems to have been this afternoon. we have wind gusts at sfo, about 45 miles per hour. those peak gusts at about 30. we just about got four hours left in this coastal wind advisory. as you can see here. winds strongest along the coast. some areas still in the 30 to 40 mile-per-hour range. the wind will expire. we should see wind speeds coming down. look at the comparison from the gusts we saw today versus the same time tomorrow. gusts 20 to 30 during thday tomorrow. there is also going to be a

i'm terry mcsweeney. >> i'm gia wang. alleged serial killer is arrested in stockton today. the police say it likely started in oakland, before the man went on to kill five more in stockton. we hear from the sister of the bay area man. >> reporter: she says she feels there will finally be justice now. back in april of 2021, her brother, 39-year-old, was shot and killed in oakland. she says his death left their family heartbroken. recently stockton police said they believe vazquez's murder was first in a string of shootings, six of them deadly. tips that helped them zero in on a suspect and arrest him in stockton. >> he determined early this morning he was on a mission to kill. he was out hunting. >> reporter: police say 43-year-old of stockton was alone, wearing dark colors and armed with a gun. maria says his arrest gives a little bit of piece to her nieces who are without a fire. but it also boils her blood. investigators haven't met with her yet but she's hoping they do soon. >> reporter: nbc bay area news. >> brownlee is due in court tuesday, facing multiple charges, inc
