i'm terry mcsweeney. >> and i'm audrey asistio.a number of storms this week. >> and we're starting to see some of the fallout of all the rain. a landslide blocked niles canyon road. you can see the caltrans crews hard at work taking care of that slide right there. at this time caltrans has not said when that road might be reopened. drivers will have to find alternate routes along 680 and 880. wow, that's one of the messes we are having right now. let's get to rob mayeda. he's following the latest path of this storm. >> flood watches throughout the north bay and by 10:00 tonight it will be san francisco, the east bay and south bay under those flood watches which will last 24 hours. it will take us to 10:00 saturday night. and with the saturated ground, you saw the impact there on highway 84. more rain coming in, another 2 to 4 inches of rain expected across most areas. and storm ranger has been picking up on that steady rain at times, moving across the bay area. the storm system itself is still kind of getting its act together here

i'm terry mcsweeney. it is a crisp, cold and wet night across the bay area.y wet at the bay bridge toll plaza, things moving very slowly. rain coming down this weekend as things get frosty in some areas. this was the sustain in pleasanton early today, the south bay getting the worst of the rain. here is what it looks like on the drive to san jose on highway 101 this evening, the wet weather causing a number of crashes on the road. let's take you outside for a live look right now. that storm sticking around. it will be a soggy weekend. very good news for skiers though. a nice dusting of fresh powder this afternoon. rob, we need the rain for drivers, but please slow down. how long is it going to be here? >> i saw some of that, too, 680. it looks like a bobsled run at times with some of the heavy rain coming down, the biggest impacts happening on the commutes and the bay area to start the weekend. the peak of the rain occurring in san jose. look at that, santa cruz mountains, half an inch of rain. palo alto, closing out on a half inch. similar to the tri-valley.
