i'm terry mcsweeney. it is a crisp, cold and wet night across the bay area.y wet at the bay bridge toll plaza, things moving very slowly. rain coming down this weekend as things get frosty in some areas. this was the sustain in pleasanton early today, the south bay getting the worst of the rain. here is what it looks like on the drive to san jose on highway 101 this evening, the wet weather causing a number of crashes on the road. let's take you outside for a live look right now. that storm sticking around. it will be a soggy weekend. very good news for skiers though. a nice dusting of fresh powder this afternoon. rob, we need the rain for drivers, but please slow down. how long is it going to be here? >> i saw some of that, too, 680. it looks like a bobsled run at times with some of the heavy rain coming down, the biggest impacts happening on the commutes and the bay area to start the weekend. the peak of the rain occurring in san jose. look at that, santa cruz mountains, half an inch of rain. palo alto, closing out on a half inch. similar to the tri-valley.
