joining us from houston, texas, jeff roe, former presidential campaign manager for ted cruz and steveofounder of purple strategies. welcome. we have not talked to either in a while, so what is the state of the presidential race as you see it? itf: trump is out of it and is super bowl of sorts for sunday to realign the race. it is important because of the other news and the waning days, the storm, early votes coming in, particularly in key states. it is critical to reset the narrative. going into the first of a, trump was on a tear, momentum, and putting states that were seemingly out of reach and play, and that changed sunday night and it slid back and kind of resembles how it looked before we went into the conventions, so now i think it makes sunday critical. to be clear, their outlier calls that show some trump thinking up nationally but most of the numbers have a margin of victory advantage for the clinton campaign. him self in at whole because of a bad debate performance, can he take out of it? steve: structurally, the race has been about a 3.24 point advantage to the democrat and

trump did not win texas during the primary but another republican native son did and that would be ted cruz. so, if indeed there is widespread voter fraud in texas, why are there so many republicans in office? >> you're coming to me for that? >> yes. >> i think the answer is that you know there's a lot of monitoring of both parties, in the actual process. and i think in 2, one of the reasons that it is so republican dominated has to do with the way the congressional districts are drawn. and when you have control of one party who then controls that process, you end up with a lot of people from that party elected to office. i think, you know, the question really when you hear the word rigged, people immediately think that there are people showing up in person to vote who are not eligible to vote. and i don't think anywhere we have found that -- that there's evidence of that. but there are many other parts of the snake that is the process of voting and counting those votes. and so i think, you know, people worried about whether it's -- you can hack into that system. whether public officia
