worked for the hillary clinton campaign and abby livingston, a washington bureau chief for the texas tribunebe the issue that separates one democratic candidate from the pack and who is best positioned to do that? >> it's an issue that democrats will be talking about a lot on the trail i imagine in that debate in a week and a half in houston, given that it's in texas you're going to hear a lot about that. certainly congressman o'rourke has been very outspoken on it. all democrats have tried to lead on this. i've been arguing that democrats have kind of won the culture war on guns. i think that that's something that, you know, maybe the rest of us are kind of late to realizing, late to understanding. but the culture war on guns has been won by progressives and it's time for democrats to use that as a hammer and as a voting issue to pressure republicans who are standing in the way or who are not forceful enough on gun control. i think democrats have the responsibility now to force that action. you have a nation that has moved very quickly from thoughts and prayers to sick and tired. and i thin
