the details. vic? >> reporter: abc 7 news has learned that judge aaron persky was taken off that sexual assault case after the santa clara county district attorney took the rare step of filing that motion to remove the judge from the case. they said -- and this is a statement from the district attorney's office -- we lack confidence that judge persky can fairly participate in this upcoming hearing in which a male nurse sexually assaulted an anest sized female patient. a juror in the brock turner case expressed his outrage in a letter to the judge. >> i was a juror in the brock turner trial. the first words in his letters to judge aaron persky, a letter he also sent to the palo alto weekly. he wrote, i was absolutely shocked and appalled at the judge's leniency. a six month sentence he gave former stanford swimmer brock turnerer for a sexual assault conviction. reporter elena spoke with a juror after she received the letter. >> you felt compelled to speak out about this. and wanted to do so in a way that would send a st
