the alameda county sheriff's office is warning seniors to beware the man selling fake gold bars. one scammer was caught on surveillance tape. now take a good look. he approaches people, mostly elderly folks, and tells them he has a sick relative and he needs money to help with medical expenses. he then tells them he has gold bars to sell them and takes the would-be victim to the bank to withdraw thousands of dollars in exchange for that gold bar. they say the scams are happening throughout the bay area and in southern california. if you know anything about it or recognize that man, you are urged to call the alameda county sheriff's office. passing the blame, the owners and operators of the costco, the container ship that slammed into the bay bridge in 2007, are now suing the pharmacists they say dispensed drugs to the ship's pilot right before that crash. the lawsuit claims that prescription pills dispensed to pilot john koda were given recklessly and negligently at a drugsto drugstore. they say the drugs in turn clouded his judgment. you may recall the marine pilot pled guilty i
