for the north bay mountains. the east bay hills, not one of the strongest winds we've seen under a red flag warning, but under the hot conditions, northerly winds could gust as high as 25mph. it's the humidity as well that will be bone dry in these areas down to about 10. so looking at the winds first we'll go at 4 p.m. we have a nice onshore flow, but watch what happens at night. we'll see that wind direction. it will change overnight. we have that offshore wind developing. you can clearly see it in parts of the north bay coming out of the sacramento valley. and those winds again could could gust up to 25mph, dragging in that dry humidity and also ushering in that increased risk of fire danger. and we'll repeat that again tuesday night into wednesday morning. it's all about very hot temperatures. most of us under an excessive heat warning or a heat advisory, an excessive heat warning in the pink that is the hottest temperatures. we will have this week. around the bay shoreline. we'll have warm temperatures undern

it is going to heat up tomorrow with most of the bay area under a heat alert for the week. a red flag warning is in effect tonight. paul heggen is here and a lot of to cover and the timing in all of this. >> heat advisory and heat warnings in effect through tomorrow and continuing all of the way through saturday. most of the four day holiday weekend and the excessive heat warning includes most of the bay area. hottest temperatures are going to occur anywhere from 95 to 110 degrees for the day time highs. stay hydrated, find air-conditioning, and the heat advisory is in effect around the bay. usually spots that are cooler including san francisco is up to 80 degree high temperatures tomorrow likely continuing around the territory on wednesday. the two warmest days, hottest days in the seven district attorney forecast. tomorrow, anywhere from 13-21 degrees above average. 80 degrees in san francisco, above 90 in oakland right at 100 degrees in san jose and almost one hen 10 degrees for a high temperature in concord by tomorrow afternoon. with the heat, the fire fuels will be dr

to the south bay. t right now we're starting out at 61. in livermore, and it's 58 in oakland. mid 50s for san francisco as well as mostly mid 50s for the north bay. so a nice cool start to the day. but then take a look at our highs up to 94 in napa and santa rosa in san francisco. it's in the mid 70s and 60s near the coast. so you can see the range and temperatures that we'll have as our high temperatures hit the triple digits in fairfield and concord and in the south bay were mostly in the mid 90s, san jose in the upper 80s for today and about a degree or two hotter for tomorrow. this will be the peak of the heat, where we're starting to see a lot more red on the map here. that's a major heat risk as this with prolonged exposure may have an impact to your health. as our temperatures head for the upper 90s in napa, it will be 106 in ukiah, so we'll just have to plan our day around the heat, make sure we're staying hydrated and taking breaks in the shade. if you have to work outside, we're going to see t

that includes a lot of our hills from the north to bay the east bay and coming down into the south bay. now, when we look at the relative humidity, the fire danger, as well as the wind, we are starting out with some high humidity. and this is a look at our relative humidity and percentage. the color contours show you the fire danger and it will be moderate for today for the inland east bay parts of the north bay. but then look at tomorrow. that increases as our temperatures go up and the relative humidity may be as low as 5% in parts of the bay area. so if you get any kind of sparks in those conditions, fires can spread very quickly. it's going to be warming up today, ranging from the 70s near the coast to the highs over 100 degrees. but we'll talk about even hotter heat coming our way for the next few days. mike you are seeing that the commute seems slower this morning. yeah, not so much heat on the traffic sensors, but we're looking over here toward the bay bridge, where we do finally have it filled in all the way back past the end of the parking lot. took a while. just happened over

we're in the mid 50s in the north bay. it's 57 in san francisco and san mateo and 67 in dublin and in san jose. but then as we take a look at these highs, another hot afternoon where we're blasting the air conditioning away from the coastline in the inner bay, those temperatures will reach into the 90s. and over 100 degrees. we'll look ahead to the weekend and the lower temperatures coming our way. coming up. mike says it's friday. light it is friday light. the metering lights are on at the toll plaza or at the bay bridge, but you see the toll plaza has no backup. they're slowing on the approach and as you lose lanes, that's actually more of an impact on the light traffic volume there. there is one thing of note here. if you're traveling eastbound 80 away from the bay bridge and in fact away from pinole and in toward rodeo. well, if you're exiting, typically at the willow avenue exit, this one exit is impacted. there's an investigation that continues. and so that exit is closed. you'll use highway four to get off onto city

inland in the east bay. the fire is still burning. the park fire is producing plenty of smoke. this is one of the newest burn areas in the northern perimeter of the fire and it's likely going to continue to grow, maybe not as quickly because conditions have been over the weekend and still are helping fire crews out a bit. the humidity is low. the winds are gusting to around 20 miles per hour. temperatures have only been in the 70s as opposed to the 90s. the winds in the midlevels of the atmosphere will continue directing most of the wildfire smoke away from us, but, of course, there are also fires in the southern sierra. some of that smoke might get directed towards us late wednesday into wednesday night, but for the next roughly 48 hours it looks like we'll see good air quality across the bay area and one more day of comfortable temperatures before the heat returns. >>> a live look from oakland, the coliseum site sale taking a crucial step forward, the mayor's office announcing the city agreed to terms on th

here's a live look outside now across the bay area. temperatures are well into the triple digits in our hottest inland spots. let's head straight over to first alert chief meteorologist paul heggen. >> we have to wait for the weekend for relief to everybody a, but for now heat advisories in orange, excessive heat warnings in pink, inland in the east bay, santa clara valley and inland mountains of the north bay, the peak of the heat today but it's still going to be hot tomorrow with this heat dome locked in place. the heat is exceptional now. let's look at our current temperatures and those are still running in triple digits across many inland parts of the bay area. here are the current numbers. it is above 100 degrees right now in healdsburg, close to 100 degrees in santa rosa. look out towards the coast and it's in the 60s in bodega bay. temperatures are especially hot in fairfield at 110 degrees and close to that level for concord and antioch and the reduction, 88 oakland, 73 degrees in san francisco, 60 degrees in pacifica, a 40-degr

bay and the east bay, and then into the south bay up to 106, in morgan hill. as we look ahead in livermore, friday is also very hot. but if you're making plans for the weekend, it looks a little bit better for saturday. still, 96 degrees is hot, but it's going to be much better on sunday and we are going to keep those temperatures into much of next week. but we may be replacing the extreme heat with some humidity going into the weekend. this green here shows a surge of some mid-level moisture, and when we get that, we get sometimes clouds, higher humidity. it kind of feels more muggy, but also the possibility that that could help spark some thunderstorms. thunderstorms this time of year is not a good thing, because we could see lightning strikes that could start some new fires. so watching out for that saturday and sunday. but meanwhile our focus is the heat for the next three days. that may become dangerous during the middle of the day. make sure you're staying hydrated and trying to stay in the ac as much as possible. mike, we've got a crowd now in oakland. w
