the coast here like half moon, bay and in moraine county. as you can see, gus around 40 miles per hour out there and then a stronger gust move into the rest of the bay area this afternoon. so the east bay. we're going to see those numbers increase here. hayward's going to see our gust over 40 miles per hour later this afternoon. so as we just saw right now, east bay, south bay. not bad. a very calm conditions, but it does pick up later this afternoon our temperature right now in oakland is 51 degrees. we're at 47 in napa and 48 right now in santa rosa temperatures below normal for this time of year and pretty similar to what we yesterday. our high temperatures today will hit around 64 degrees out in fremont. a half moon bay 57. and in napa were expected to hit 70 degrees today. we do have that winter weather advisory that will be in effect this afternoon through 10 o'clock tonight. if you happen to be traveling out to the sierra there showers fresh snow powder out of hair. as for here in the bay area is going to be dry for us. we don't expect to see any rain. just be a breezy and windy conditions for us the next couple of days. but there you see that war

that's when the red flag warning set to expire for us here in the bay area, specifically the highest peaks north bay mountains, east bay hills, including the east bay interior valleys and solano county. so we have a huge portion of the bay area currently under this imminent fire danger. and that's because of the return of gusty northerly winds. they're going to peak once again tonight, all the way through your monday morning. take a look at calistoga, alice peak and vacaville slightly less than 50 mile per hour winds but elevations above 2000 feet could easily see wind gusts upwards of 60 miles per hour or less by around monday afternoon still tracking those northerly winds and that perfect textbook example of those job low winds. they start from the north and then head south. so it has a very warm and dry air mass associated with it on top of our very warm and dry vegetation with temperatures once again warming up into the low 90's beginning tomorrow. relative humidity out there right now thanks to the return of that cool sea breeze tracking quite a bit of moisture, not just along th

and yes, right now it is light in parts of the bay area. but the numbers will go up later this currently the south bay seeing calm conditions and the east bay. but if you're along the coast like in half moon bay or a sonoma and marin county. it is a little windy out there and numbers we're going to see are going to go up so overnight oakland airport. we did hit 40 miles per hour for our winds seen carlos airport close to 40 miles per hour as well. and here's our current numbers. it has gone down since we did have that wind advisory expire at 5 but still windy out in santa rosa and half moon bay right now. and then we see those numbers increase this afternoon. this is right before 4 o'clock winds will hit close to 50 miles per hour out in concord for us as well as out in san jose notice the winds to increase as well. tomorrow will be a similar story. we're going to feel those breezy conditions. but our numbers won't be as high as you they're looking at our wind speeds right now. it is dry for us in the bay area and it should remain like that

the only bay area county. but the green light to move to the state's least restrictive tier, the yellow tier. >> obviously any movement in a positive direction where we open up more part of our economy responsibly is a good thing and should celebrate that we should commend those counties that have the local conditions to do so. and we're optimistic that are local conditions will continue to trend in the right direction. now the county supervisor alfredo pedroza says they remain in orange in napa county but are moving toward the yellow tier like many other bay area counties, solano county. however, remains in the red tier moving county was close to getting the ok on tuesday to move to the yellow tier, but we'll have to wait until may. 18th officials there say their case rate of 2.5 exceeded the allowable level of 2 per 100,000 residents for 2 weeks to advance forward their case rate was less than 2 for most of last week before rising officials there attribute travel and social gatherings and mostly unvaccinated

>> when fun time from the bay area's local news station. you're watching kron. 4 news at known. >> now. tonight we have learned the suspect in that double stabbing of 2 asian women in downtown san francisco earlier this week. turns out the guy has a long history of run-ins with the law. good evening, everybody. thanks for being here on kron 4 news at 9, i'm grant lotus and i'm vicki liviakis kron four's. maureen kelly has new information now. >> on the suspect's arrest record back in 2017, which was for yet another stabbing that police say was unprovoked. this is the photo that was blasted out by police as they were searching for the suspect after the brazen daylight attack tuesday. according to a law enforcement source. >> here's video of the crime scene from the citizen app. police have arrested 54 year-old patrick thompson booked on 2 counts of attempted murder and elder abuse. police allege. he walked up on the 85 year-old and 63 year-old victims from behind and stabbed them several times. a witness says the suspect walked up on the vict

the rain move in. but there you go. that area of low pressure spinning over the sierra nevada low back some moisture back into the bay areaseeing some rain drops out there now things breaking up just a little bit in the walnut creek. but we've been looking at some rain there and there continues c that batch of moisture sliding on through taking 4 close look now you can see moving a little further to the south now in the alamo. and sam ramon, if you take it down even closer. now you can see the showers most that just some light showers. but boy, if you're out there around 6 ad, you're driving danville. watch out. again. some rain coming your way. maybe that sliding all the way down toward pleasanton and dublin and eventually, maybe even livermore seeing some of that moisture coming your way. in the meantime, though, the showers continuing out there and another batch of that rain little bit further to the north. that's just now beginning to make its way in the north and look at that near saying lena, this is coming to just the right times you get that afternoon. heating. and that's just enough to spark some of these thunder

now. >> 50 miles per hour around the bay area. that's the blustery everywhere you go. so the wind advisory in effect, you can see in brown here all along the peninsula. stretching to the north bay. the east bay too. you can see the gusty winds working their way through there 40. i've up these up to about 55 miles per hour sustained between about 15 and 25, but it is been very, very blustery little winds right now. gusting to 51 in the richmond district in san francisco 50 in the daily city. 53 in the millbrae. we had a gust of 56 if the sfo today. so you get the idea. very strong gusty winds working way down the peninsula. 36 mile an hour winds gusting the redwood city. 43 in san carlos and belmont. 37 in los altos hills. 32 in cupertino. 29 in campbell, 30. you make your way a little bit further to the south there 27 to milpitas 40 in newark and all around the bay area. this is how it's played out. a very gusty afternoon everywhere you went. you saw these winds just kind of picking up 44 mile an hour winds in rodeo right now. 44 also hercules 28 36 in american canyon s

bay and the east bay. those are going to be the biggest areas of concern in the bay area. in addition to the diablo range and east bay valleys. so we do have a red flag warning in effect through monday temperatures today, 10 to 20 degrees above average. we should be in the 60's and 70's this time of year. instead warming up into the 70's 80's and yes, even low 90's. so let's take a look at wind gusts because winds out of the north are very warm and dry in nature and we are already dealing with extreme drought conditions for all of the bay area. according to our latest drought monitor map by sunday morning around mid morning. we're going to see winds gusting upwards of 43 miles per hour for vacaville elevations above 2000 feet could see winds peaking at 60 miles per hour or less. and then it's going to switch and direction. instead of getting more of that northwesterly flow like we saw today along the coast, we're going to see the return of that cool sea breeze bring some much needed moisture to our inland valleys in the east bay and north bay. but then by monday morning, i

for those in the bay area, new proof that the bay area not benefiting like other regions when it comes to the pandemic related to real estate boom. some of you would agree and argue that the bay area was booming already but the new zillow report finds that a jump in year over year median prices right here are the lowest anywhere. let's look at san jose. metro area saw a 6% appreciation year over year. san francisco which includes four other counties with a 7%. the number may sound great but other cities are higher, looking at austin, texas, climbing 25%. the median there though still only about one-third of the bay area and nationally prices went up about 12%. >> happening today, santa clara county supervisors expected to decide whether to adopt a new law that would give courts the power to order treatment for people suffering from severe mental ill patience. the proposal is called laura's law. if the county opts into the assisted outpatient treatment program, judges would have the power to force someone into mental health treatment. some disagree about whether the program is a tool to

now we're starting to see more of that creeping into the bay area. ow at 15% of the state in that highest level of an exceptional drought. really an emergency here because we've seen such dry conditions especially from parts of the north bay moving down through fairfield and into the tri-valley and then extends also up toward marin county. now the dark red showing that we are now at a very serious situation where we could have a year round fire season due to the low water and more water shortages. and for our crops that means that the fields are left fallow and causes food prices to rise. a high mortality rate for trees which can add more fuel to fires and will possibly have very poor air quality due to the lack of rain. and we have seen sun showers moving across the sierra. for us it's been kicking up high winds, drying out the vegetation even more but there could be snow in the sierra. 1 to 5 inches the next couple of days and once that moves out our temperatures start to warm up as high pressure moves right back in. temperatures will reach into the
