we have puddles of water here on the embarcadero. this is not from today's rain. we only saw .1" here in san francisco. this was caused from today's king tides. and the next king tide will occur tomorrow morning at 9:33 a.m. it will measure 6.8 feet so you will want to expect a little bit of minor flooding right here on the embarcadero. okay. how much rain fell within the bay area today alone? let's take a look. it looks like so far in richmond .2" of rain. san francisco only .1." these are very anemic measurements. and it looks like for the most part, it doesn't help as far as our rainfall totals are concerned. let's look at the deficit because right now in san francisco, we are way below normal as far as the statistics are concerned. we are nearly 5.5" below normal and san jose nearly 3." the same story in san jose. what needs to be done? more rain. we have six more weeks of winter weather here in the bay area before spring. doesn't look like we'll see a major weather pattern change. it all needs to be seen. we'll stay on top of it with mobile weather right here

we're here on the embarcadero in san francisco. and we're caught in the evening commute as is pretty normal for this time of night in the bay area. you're going to get it one way or another. the folks at texas a & m transit institute put together a study. they wanted to find out what were the worst cities in america when it comes to commute traffic. we're not the worst but pretty close. let's look at the chart here. it looks like washington, d.c. comes in number one. believe it or not, it can take up to three hours to complete a commuter drive that normal takes about 30 minutes when it's noncommute time. second place, los angeles. it's a mess down there. they got 15 million people. that's understandable. and then third, san francisco/bay area. and a lot of it has to do with people funneling into san francisco into the south bay and then back out again at commute time. they looked at this and figured out that, believe it or not, people are lose about 5 billion hours worth of productivity every year in the united states because of tra

beautiful day here in the embarcadero. a lot of construction going on behind me here at pier 27. o. but officially that building is gonna be open for business starting tomorrow. but for the long-term, this two- story, $90 million project will be mainly for cruise ships. as you mentioned, this is the official, hads of the america cup's races. this basically completes phase one of the project. the starting line and finish line are not too far from here. ribbon-cutting ceremonies will take place and mayor ed lee will be here tomorrow morning to officially open the building to the public. as we mentioned, a lot of construction to complete with the second phase to take place during the coming months which will include retail, landscaping and finishing off the parking area at the pier. it includes, finishing the details of the building. officials say once the cruise ship terminal is complete, it will be a 21st-century state of the art experience. as we take it back out here live, pretty quiet out here. this can hold up to 4,000 on a cruise ship. back to you. >> thank you. 8:35. we want
