the very groups the irs was suppressing. obviously the justice department and the fbi were conflicted and failing to prosecute the irs or anyone associated with it because they might had to prosecute themselves. they have to reopen and audit what went on. >> harris: the big picture and all of this has some democrats -- we had one last hour on outnumbered, saying "there were progressive groups that were targeted by the irs." that number, north of 400 conservative groups getting the apology, part of the settlement compared with a very small amount of progressive groups, what do you say about that? >> everyone knew the tea party groups are being targeted, that was the focus, the numbers were there. they did not conclude that the left was specifically targeted because it was the left but they did conclude and the documents show as highlighted earlier, we found documents like that as well, political affiliation of the right was a reason for targeting these groups. some of them still don't have their tax-exempt status to this day.

the irs has not gotten its house in order. first place, how it can't map again. that is the real work. cheryl: whatever side of the aisle they're on, the irs would have this kind of overreach and this kind of power when the scandal broke in 2013, we all felt that way. do you think the irs would do this again, potentially, to any group, left or right? >> yeah, i think the answer is they absolutely would. there is a culture of corruption inside of the irs. there is absolute power corruption kind of scandal going on inside of the irs even today. there is very little oversight provided by congress to the irs. they have been nothing but obstinant providing documentation or any kind of openness actually what happened inside and that means that potential still exists. the irs is still the deep swamp, the deep state in washington, d.c. it cries out for reform. cheryl: well, at least there is a step in the right direction for you, and for all of the plaintiffs, in both of these cases, and some good words from sessions on it. mark, than

we just had discussion about the irs. there are contractual relationships, i understand, with the use of this data. let me talk about the cfpb as an example. in september of 2014 the gao did a report which i requested an cfpb data collection. they found at that time, three years ago now, they had access to account level credit card data between 546 to 596 million consumer accounts on a monthly basis representing 87% of the credit card market. gao also found that at that time there was not adequate protection at the cfpb of this data that they were collecting. in this report it indicated -- again this was in 2014, all of the sources of data that the cfpb was collecting and experian shows up in that report. 700,000 vehicles per month, information procured from experian. vehicle purchases and the data on those purchases. 10.7 million consumers, cosigners and borrowers with consumer credit information from experian. and another 600,000 samples of consumer credit reports and consumer credit scores on those reports from experian
