mark kelly live in the oakland hills. mark, how's it looking it? >>reporter: well, anne, we've really seen some impressive winds in the last 24 hours. at times in some areas topping 65 miles per hour. in fact, we found this one house in the oakland hills, they have got a lot of cleaning up to do. take a look at this. a 90-foot pine fell across not one, but two yards, crashing onto this home, piercing the roof with its massive branches. now, the wind was strong enough here last night to not just knock over this threrts-pound tree, but rip it -- 30,000- pound tree, but ripping its roots and leaving a crater behind. this was hit hard too. take a look. customers at this starbucks in alamo got a high jolt when wind knocked this tree onto some park cars. pretty scary there. good news in both of those situations no one was hurt, but, of course, we have another storm on the way and only a little bit of time to get some cleaning up done before that second bout of rain comes through. anne, back to you. >> thanks, mark, we'll check in with you in the next half

if you look carefully we can see the cranes at the port of oakland. we have mostly cloudy skies here and we have areas of fog in santa rosa where strict is now a half mile in some locations. meanwhile it's 48 degrees with the cloud cover in livermore. oh, it is another winter spare the air day. which means we will have some hazy sunshine under a partly cloudy sky. all right here's what we all need to know with the approaching storm. i know you already heard about it. it is coming. it is on track. and we will have the rain developing by thursday afternoon. and the far reaches of the north bay. otherwise everybody's wet and windy on friday. especially the north bay. and then rain we're going to be in and out of the waves of rain showers through sunday. right now we have an area of low pressure it's brushing up against that northwestern corner of the state of california. these clouds are undercutting the ridge of high pressure. and that's why we'll call it partly cloudy today. i knows this running pretty quickly for you but i want to give you a good idea.
