in america's best park system. and the way i wanted to begin my remarks and i'm phil against ginsberg and run your park department. mayor, i was thinking back-i'm speaking into the mic. i was speaking back to 2018 and we were in the back yard of martha and carla to inner sunset neighbors and civic champions and by the way, i will do my whole conflict of interest thing ahead of time, because i'm a neighbor so i'm really happy about this too. but we were in martha and carla's backyard and you had just become mayor and when you were supervisor you put in a few bucks for design process. thank you. you think it was my first time doing this. you put a few dollars in for design when you were supervisor, but you came to this event in the backyard of sunset neighbor and you told well over a hundred people how important this was to you and how much you got it, and we were going to do this project. i was just sort of getting to know you as mayor and when i was thinking what kind of parks mayor is london breed going to be? it all star

the long term care of the parks. so let's begin with the timeline, we're in the midst of what is called major phase one. this phase is the largest phase of the project, both in terms of the process perspective to develop the protocols for interaction as well as from an infrastructure and vertical development production standpointte. within this major phase, we've completed some significant parks already. this image shows the parks that are or will be online by 2025. you can see those with an orange hash outline are largely complete and open, like waterfront plaza, signal point, the rocks in panorama park. next up for completion include city side park, cultural park and beach park. so how are we working to care for these parks that are open now? we had the march director's statement guiding our work. the associated title board hearing in march was the big announcement of what title will pursue to advance the director's vision in that director's statement, this board has had one related action in june on the short term

, and they were thrilled to learn the park will remain open. who can resist a giant chicken slide? certainly not three year old twins archie and ollie. they come here to emma prusch farm park with their dad several times a month. the park spans 46 acres, and recently there was a dispute between the city of san jose and how the emma prusch farm park foundation was handling this one third of an acre, known as emma's kitchen garden. our concerns around fundraising and communication and operational practices have made it difficult to maintain an effective partnership, and that's why we've decided to conclude those negotiations. the city of san jose has not had an agreement with the farm park foundation for more than a decade, so the city said it would no longer negotiate with the foundation and asked the volunteers to remove their tools by november 18th. some thought that meant the entire park was getting evicted and visitors were concerned it would close. we reached out to the foundation for comment, but have not yet received a response. the city s
