tomorrow morning memorial day ceremony will be held at the san francisco national cemetery in the presidio. yesterday boy scouts planted flags at the 30,000 headstones for the soldiers, family members and notable figures laid to rest there. tomorrow's ceremony starts at 11, and will include a band concert and flyover by the coast guard air station salem at -- san francisco. a memorial day vigil will also be held in lafayette. east bay congressman mark desaulnier will speak during the service at the lafayette hillside memorial, organizers say the event will help remember the ultimate sacrifice and help reflect on consequences of war. that memorial was first created in 2006 by a small group of people who decided to build a tribute for those dying in iraq. that memorial starts at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow and is located right across from the lafayette bart station. one bay area veteran is celebrating 100 years of life this memorial day holiday. oakland native alfred gross will turn 100 years old on june 1. his family members threw him a huge birthday bash today at round hill country to celebrate the
