the state supreme court ruled that his $15 billion plan to divert water from the sacramento san joaquin delta can move forward. the plan involves building to giant tunnels that will eventually carry water down to central and southern california. the court ruled the state does not need to pay the land owners to conduct preliminary tests for the project. the property owners claim the test would be invasive and demanded compensation. the state argued the land owners would be covered in case of any problems. >>> or the second year, the sacramento municipal utility district is stocking some sierra reservoirs with rainbow trout. between now and august, 10,000 pounds of rainbow trout will be released at union valley reservoir. 8000 pounds are going in at icehouse reservoir. 7000 pounds at loon lake. >> these trout averaged 1.5 pounds each. there is some three pound or five pound asked in there. >>> the utility district said it will stock fish every year for the next 50 years. the trout release is part of the condition that allows the utility to operate a hydroelectric system in the sierra. the
