the east bay. let's turn to jacqueline bennett for the forecast. >> rain down in the south bay right now but it let up through most of the bay area. storm tracking 4, all that yellow and orange, that is in the south bay. let's zoom in there first and see what we got going right now. lighter here over san jose. although it registers as moderate rainfall. campbell seeing a courter inch inch -- quarter inch of rain. in the hills, 2/3 per power. we are seeing -- per hour. we were seeing it heavy earlier. on the east bay shores, just a couple hundredth inches of rain. cloudy conditions. san francisco, condition have greatly improved here. right now just seeing -- actually no rain hitting the ground. must be drying up. improving conditions out there at this hour. we can see the pattern of the storm has pushed through. look at all that yellow, moving through on your screen. snow in the sierra and thal continues. the core of the storm to the north ear and spotty showers long the coast line. this fills in tomorrow, bringing us a chance of thundershowers. >> thank you. >> hour team coverage moves to oakland.

otherwise everyone else is looking at rain and as immensed in the south bay, south of san jose, near uz, looking at light shower activity. this stuff has been rolling right along the coast this morning, producing even a few rumbles of thunder, but as i mentioned in san francisco as you saw, it looking at dry conditions there. it's 44 in san francisco right now. san mayato t matteo at 44 as we. snow levels are going to start to drop to 1,100 feet. live at 2,000 feet right at the cusp may actually see a little rain-snow mix. now tonight as this area of low pressure moves out of the area, we are going to start to see skies clear just momentarily. those winds will continue to gust, and then for tomorrow, as we move through the day, we're talking mainly dry conditions because this ridge is actually going to start to build in for tomorrow, but for today, again this area of low pressure, it's starting inland. it's going to bring some pretty intense storms to the central united states through this week, and as it moves out of this region the winds again following behind it because of the mome

significant dip, so the core of low pressure, the cold front, the actual core is going to crash right over the bay area, right over the southay and times out like this. stop the clock at 3:00 a.m., starting to get our first light showers over the greater bay area. stop the clock again at 11:00 a.m. steady rainfall not just at the coast, all the way from antioch to san francisco. rain continues through 10:00 p.m. saturday, a little bit of a break, a little bit of a lighter pattern as we head through the first part of sunday. we stop the clock at 5:00 p.m., look at all this rain. this is the actual core of low pressure, you can see that here vividly. heavy rain moving through morgan hill. and so i do believe we're going to pick up maybe 3 inches. we need that rain. we're still lacking in our totals for this time of year. we've got to get back up to normal and we're only at about 50% right now. as we head throughout the week, we're looking pretty good. next week, we've got showers tuesday and wednesday, look at your temperatures, these are spring-like showers. they're going to be kind of pesky, nothing too heavy, the main even

the south. as we put you through the time line. tomorrow in the evening starting to see a little rain in the north bay. lly starts to pick up as we go through midday on tuesday. you are seeing lighter rain around the rest of the area and heavier rain line to the south. wednesday's commute will be probably the messiest for the first half of the week. 4:00 looking at good rain around the central bay area. by wednesday evening, round one starts to move off. wednesday evening in to early thursday we should catch a break before more rain drops in thursday in to friday. rainfall projections starting through monday it will be dry. you will see the numbers start to pop for tuesday in to wednesday. north bay locations looking at two to three locations of rain. another bull's eye here, the santa cruz mountains as we see the flow out of the south. probably another two to three inches least here. on the santa clara valley side of things a little less as the air dries out as it drops over the santa cruz mountain thes. the coastal ranges will get the biggest punch. a lot of this coming for tuesday and wednesday. mean
