gregory 10 on your side. we continue our team coverage from williamsburg. our photojournalist lance thomas got this video this afternoon of the snow. you can see it blanketing the ground. people in western north carolina had to deal with the snow as, well. this is video from person county near durham. the snow stuck to grass and cars, but it was too warm to stick to the roads. v-dot is keeping a close eye on road conditions... trucks are on standby in case roads ice up as the temperatures drop county and williamsburg are the places crews are especially keeping an eye on. paula miller says v-dot is prepared for any slick spots on the roads this evening. icy conditions and speed led to a deadly crash in sussex county this afternoon. state police say 74-year-old nancy leigh smith died when her car crashed into a tree on route 31 - east of route 617. another person in the car was also hurt. police believe smith may have been speeding. she was not wearing a seatbelt. they say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. police in chesapeake three crashes early this afternoon. photojourn

gregory side. breaking news - this time in hampton. police are still looking for someone who jumped out of a car during a traffic stop on i-64. the search for that person pushed thomas nelson community college and the o-d-u peninsula higher education center into lockdown. both have since been lifted. 10 on your side's liz kilmer is live outside the college with new information. liz? those alerts were issued just after noon - following reports of an active police search. about two hours later the lockdowns were lifted but many questions remains. chopper 10 overhead- spotting police with dogs searching a neighborhood about a half mile north from thomas nelson we're told this all started when state police tried to stop a vehicle that was driving recklessly on westbound i-64. during the stop it was determined - we're told- that someone in the vehicle had a warrant out for a burglary. someone in the back passenger seat reportedly jumped out and ran across the interstate - toward thomas nelson. both thomas peninsula higher education center went on lockdown. we spoke with thomas nelson students- who say it was an alarming couple of hours- they knew little about what was go
