she is still looking for answers abc 7 news reporter tim johns spoke with her this afternoon and bringsstory. you'll see only on seven. i'm hoping it was a mistake. but to me it was a it was a pretty bad mistake a nightmare situation unfolding for shannon orton at the autopia car wash in concord on july 20th. orton took her car in to be cleaned. she says she sat and waited for it to be finished, but when it was done within a matter a couple seconds, i watched my car legally drive off the lot. they legitimately gave my keys to someone else orton says after the initial shock wore off. she went inside to talk to the staff telling them that one of their employees had given the keys to the wrong person the lady that was at the customer service went up to the guy who was clinging my car and asked where the subaru was and he just stood there like this. police were called and orton fouled a report. she says well, she hasn't seen the footage herself officers told her that surveillance video shows. person with the hats glasses and face masks getting into her vehicle and driving away orton says sh

tim johns tells us more. reporter: one of san francisco's most pressing problems might be getting better. according to data released thursday, the number of people experiencing homelessness in the city dropped to 7750, a 3.5 decrease. much of that drop can be attributed to the massive amount of resources the city received during the pandemic. >> cities have not gotten much help from the california government or federal government until this happened. that obviously makes a difference. reporter: of those counted, about 57% were unsheltered and living on the street, another decrease since 2019. while the racial and ethnic makeup stayed relatively the same, latinos where the exception. over the last three years, homelessness in that community shot up 55%, an example of the toll that covid has taken. >> many lost jobs and even before the pandemic were living in insecure housing situations. reporter: while the latest report might offer hope, many say it is important to remember its limitations. >> it is a snapshot
