"we also have a lot of projects that we need up front of that 30 year plan and it's something that we have never done before. we have never asked our voters to consider a bond referendum to help us with our facilities," said iowa lakes community college president, valerie newhouse. a bond referendum worth 16-million- dollars. it would be spread out over 15-years with money coming from property taxes. "it'll make us more competitive with other community colleges. we forward or you get left behind and that's the biggest reason we're doing it now because all five campuses are in need of some updating," said iowawa lakes board ofofrustees vice president, pat kibbie.
