tra tracy? >> the militants we've learned in the last hour or so have captured this town, near the syrian border. it's the northwestern border of iraq. the mayor confirms it. the town has about 200,000 people. this is the third town or city to fall in iraq in the last week. meantime, the u.s. state department has announced that security personnel at the u.s. embassy in baghdad will be increased amid the current instability in iraq, about 150 marines have been sent to help with that. some staff has been moved out of the embassy. most remain. the embassy has about 5,000 personnel. then there are these disturbing pictures. new photos posted online appear to show mass execution of iraqi soldiers by that militant group there. we're not showing the most graphic pictures but here are some of them. the photos were taking by a group. independent news cannot independently verify their authentici authenticity. we'll continue to monitor developments. live in the digital operation center, tracy davidson, nbc

tracy. >>> we have new video out of salem county. a young woman is beaten by another woman as her toddler son looks on. rosemary is live in the digital operations center. what are people saying about this? >> well, the chief of salem has been posting pictures on his facebook page. we're going to show you a clip but a warning it is very violent and graphic. you can see in this video that the attacker punches the young woman in the face after she knocks her to the ground. the mother's young son is next to her. several times, he threatens to kick her to stop her. the attacker then threatens to kick the toddler. charges have been filed. they have identify this woman once a judge sets bail, she will be arrested and jailed. the police chief also thanked the good samaritans who passed along this video. the video had been up online and then taken down. people did forward it to the police chief. we're going update you on the story to see if charges will be filed. as soon as we get developments, we'll bring them to you. reporting live in the d
