the treasure island of transportation plan includes a very innovative program for making transportation sustainable as the island develops and focused on parking pricing and congestion and to mitigate any impact on the bridge and provides a program for transit and other management techniques to help improve non-automobility to the island. this time what is needed is planning work to complete the preimplementation, activities in support of the pricing program. so analyzing alternative pricing amounts, relationship between parking pricing and the toll between different transit service levels are needed to support the pricing program and the initial system's design on the technology side for how the pricing program would be compatible with that and with sf park and etc vment there is a planning dimension and design engineering dimension to the contract. the contract is funded by a grant that we run from mtc, metropolitan transportation commission. it's very highly rated, this project was very highly rated in the program so planning will be fully funded by that as well as a match from tita.

this is our view from treasure island.ou can see sitting right in front of the current span we are already using. of course a lot of questions still remain really on how this is all going to shake out. and so the mtc spokesperson was able to tell me he expects three things to happen. first we will get an update on the bolts. on what their plans are. again this is a pretty big problem. you got two sets of bolts. one from 2008, one from 2010. there is 92 bolts or 96 bolts from 2008. a third of those did snap. they are trying to figure out what happened with those and try to find a solution. so let me break this down again. first solution they will try to talk about what caused this. because they are calling hydrogen imbid lment. that means hydrogen got in the steel and that is how they broke. second thing they will talk about the 96 bolts in this 2008 shipment how they will fix those. and then you have even more bolts in a 2010 shipment and they want to know do they have to address those as well? all these solutions though t

these are the more large and complex projects like the transit district plan, like treasure island, like cpmc and how we hear those legislation and because we have heard that and clear from members of the community this is a process they'd like to keep intact, we have not deleted that provision. we do want to thank a coalition of groups that worked with us on and brought this legislation before us and helped to work with us over the last month to craft it. and want to recognize in particular the neighborhood coalition, local 2, cr club, u.c. hastings and susan bratctionvv holloway who is an attorney that works a lot on c-e-q-a throughout the state that gave us a lot of advice. and particular thanks to elaine warren, our city attorney at our office for working so diligently on our legislation as i know that she is working diligently on supervisor wiener and other land use legislation here for the city. so, we appreciate her ability to get this to us in timely manner so we can look at both legislations side by side. i really look forward to the discussion and the debate as we move forward.

~ and treasure island ending on treasure island were communicating with ms. cruz on the 800 megahertz system. this is vital for public safety. it is really the glue that hold the public safety system, fire, police, sheriffs together. so, i know that 800 megahertz has limitations. it is voice only. deputy chief tomioko, when she presented to the board of supervisors several years ago was talking about how when she has this, she can't see a lost child. she can't get information data information. all she gets is the voice. so, our officers or first responders need that as well. we have over 7,000 mobile and portable radios operating on the system, and also dispatch consoles in my shop at dem. the projected life cycle for this system was 10 years. it's 13 years old. at this point we have obsolete equipment. we cannot get replacement parts. the batteries are defective. our officers on the street may need to carry two or even three batteries with them for one of their shifts so that they continue to have access during the day. i think it's really important to note
