tri valley, just as cloudy. if we put numbers, everybody is in the mid to upper 50s in immediate bay, a warm 60 for san jose, a cool 54 in petaluma. that's our spread from 54 in petaluma to 60 in san jose. there is the extent of the clouds. you see it does have the entire bay area at least for now looking at gray skies, extends to the tri valley. you see the south bay certainly in the immediate bay and there is the north bay. bring it forward and play to the late morning and early afternoon. clouds will melt all the way back to the beach or i should say to the immediate part of the bay and golden gate by about noon today. i think this will be one of those days where you see marine layer creeping in like the classic june gloom will for the city and maybe even part of the east bay. by the time we get to late afternoon it does burn back to just beaches. we all get sunshine for most of today unless you are at the beach and it builds back in over night. meantime, there is our significant change in the weather coming

that's the view showing up as we look across the tri valley. let's put numbers on this if you are ready to step outside. we are in the mid 50s most locations, 57 hayward, 56 santa rosa, 57 livermore. that marine layer is going to burn back. it's pretty widespread but slowly mounts back by the time we have gotten to the 10:00 hour. it is back into the immediate bay. we'll have cleared it out of the tri valley and 680 by the time we get to 10:30 in the morning. it really doesn't clear to the coast and golden gate until early afternoon today. it will be one of those days. as far as daytime highs, we'll see numbers that come in right where they should for this time of year. that means low 80s for much of the south bay, 85 campbell, 77 in san mateo. valleys of the east bay, numbers will be in the mid to upper 80s for daytime highs, back in the immediate bay and marin, we will see low to mid 70s for most locations, in the bay that is. it starts to get hot into clear lake, into lake county, mendocino county. that's where we still have a heat advisory

the tri-valley did reach the low 90s, cooling quickly to 70 degrees. and there you see the distance. some of that smoke i'm talking about moving the willow fire. these are the skies of san jose, 68 degrees. speaking of the willow fire, we had more wind picking up during the day today, so we saw that smoke column rise up, push more smoke to the south bay and parts of the east bay. again, the wind aloft as we show you the air pollution impact away from the willow fire. you can see how this kind of curves up past gilroy up to the diablo range. higher up in the atmosphere, thankfully we're still looking at good to moderate. but i think if you're in the salinas valley, you may see some of that smoke drain into the valleys in the morning hours. we'll be watching that closely for the air quality impacts from the fire burning from the south. on the coast, low clouds thickening up as we head toward the morning. patchy low clouds moving locally inland as well. this sets the stage for a cooling trend that will finally kick in for parts of the east bay tomorrow. s
