trish hartman is live at the base of the bridge on the philadelphia side. hi, trish. >> reporter: hi, there, matt and tam, that's right, the ben franklin bridge is open and a few hours ahead of schedule many drivers will be happy about that. take a look at the bridge behind me, you can see the trucks and cars coming from new jersey on the philadelphia side, of course. officers say it officially opened at 2:00 a.m., it was going to open at 4:00 a.m., it opened at 2:00 a.m. many folks making the walk over the ben it turned into a walkway through the papal visit. the accelerated opening of the ben franklin bridge should allow for a normal commute for those getting to, work. all the major highways leading to the ben franklin bridge are open. officials said they planned to open the bridge always quickly as possible after the pope's visit. as for septa, regional rails are operating on a saturday schedule, keep that in mind you want to check that. patco is using a special schedule. if you use the ben or any major bridges they are open this morning. live on the ben

good morning, trish. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right. now that the pope has left town, the ben franklin bridge is open to vehicular traffic. officers tell me it opened at 2:00 a.m. so you can see cars are moving along just fine. we saw a driver pull over and ask the cop and say is it open, yup, move on through. we found many folks walking across the ben some with bikes heading back to their cars in new jersey after attending the papal mass. officials say accelerated opening should make for a normal commute for those heading to work. they planned to open the brimming as quickly as possible. the folks flooded the subway and rail stations. we found riders exiting the broad and pattison station. pilgrims we spoke with said despite the wait to get to and from the mass they had an unforgettable experience. >> mass was incredible. it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. >> it was one of the best experiences i ever had in my life. i'm very glad i drove 6 hours to get here and see our holy father have mass. >>> now back to this morning's commute

trish hartman now live in radnor this afternoon with details on this. trish, what's it all about?well, brian, officers are meeting with parents privately right now at the radnor police department after they say a lewd instagram account posted pictures of juvenile girls online with graphic sexual messages. >> i understand some of them are pretty upset about it but we have to emphasize that they didn't do anything wrong in this. >> reporter: radnor police are sending a strong message to parents and kids after detectives say an inappropriate instagram account that's now deactivated victimized more than 20 radnor girls. >> there's nothing wrong with the pictures at all. it's just that what this individual had added to the comments under the pictures that are very disturbing. >> reporter: police say the girls posted the pictures of themselves fully clothed to their own instagram accounts. then investigators say the suspect reposted the pictures to a different instagram account adding sexually explicit captions. covering to the radnor township school district web site, some of the girls

trish hartman is live with more on what led up to the shooting. >> reporter: rick, the scene is still active this noon, we are at the corner of 6th street and highland avenue, this unfolded at the end of the block of highland avenue, you can see the fbi on scene and chester police, authorities say that one man was killed and at least one other person was taken into custody after this violent child pornography raid in chester. lets look at video from earlier this morning, police say that federal agents were serving a warrant at a home at the 600 block of highland avenue, authorities were confronted a man with a gun and shots were exchanged and the suspect was hit and died at the scene. several other people were in the home at the time. neighbors were disturbed to learn about the nature of this raid. >> too many children running upp down the street here and i have a lot of nieces and nephews of my own. but his mother and father live there had with him, they didn't bother anybody in the neighborhood. we didn't think anymore of it. >> reporter: now the suspect's identity is not released.

in radnor, trish hartman, channel6 "action news." >> all right. police are looking for suspects who broke into a woman's home and robbed her while her children were upstairs. it happened at 2:00 a.m. in northeast philadelphia on the 2800 block of shipley road. investigators say three he masked men got in through a basement door forced the woman onto the kitchen floor and ransacked the house. they made off with $800. the women's two and 10-year-old children were asleep. >>> fortunately nobody was hurt. >>> police increased their patrols today in wilmington's rodney square, that in the wake of monday night's deadly stabbing. killed was a good samaritan trying to protect a woman and her baby.
