but right now the tsa says it's preparing a civil case against the stowaway. >> here's what the tsa tells me. >> the tsa will open civil cases against passengers when there is evidence that procedures may have been violated. remember, the tsa cannot bring criminal charges, just civil penalties. it can refer or suggest criminal charges to the justice department or local law enforcement. what remains a mystery right now is how this person was able to slip past a delta gate agent at jfk and get down the jetway and on to the plane. a source familiar with the incident tells me that the stowaway was able to evade detection on the plane by the flight crew, since the flight was not all that full, though, a passenger told cnn that the woman was able to hide by moving between the plane's bathrooms. still not clear when this woman will come back to the united states. the stowaways between 55 and 60 years old, she has a russian passport and will soon be sent back to the united states, according to an airport official in paris. that airport official in paris also tells us this woman is detained and co

but the tsa line has not been very long at all.le, we were seeing people just walk right up to show their id and go through. there's a little bit of a wait, but it is really, really not bad, especially for what people are expecting because we are expecting a record number of travelers to go at least 50 miles over the holidays. so triple a is predicting more than 119 million americans will travel from tomorrow to the first. that's narrowly beating out 2019 numbers now here at okay. they're projecting 500,000 passengers will pass through the airport between today and january 6th. they say today is actually expected to be the busiest of those days. they're trying to make the airport festive, to welcome all of those travelers. there's a lot of decor here, multiple trees, and there will be live music and a free present wrapping station that will start soon. so you can wrap your gifts after you get through security. those things do make a difference for some passengers, especially after the pandemic. now people are feeling like things ar

so that's why we're getting that warning from the tsa now. today and sunday are expected to be peak travel days here at sfo, with 160,000 people expected to come through san jose. mineta is expecting more than 300,000 travelers through january 5th. oakland airport is expecting 500,000 through january 6th. triple a says the holiday travel rush can be seen at airports nationwide. >> we always include two weekends, so this year is from december 21st, which is a saturday to wednesday, january 1st, new year's day. so you have two weekends in there and those are going to be the busiest travel days, even though people leave at different times. >> as busy as air travel will be, triple a says most people are going to be driving for the holidays. triple a says if that's you and you're leaving today, it's best to travel before 11 a.m. you're going to want to avoid 1 to 8 p.m, and tomorrow you'll want to travel before 2 p.m. and not between 4 and 8 p.m. finally, sunday, they say hitting the road before noon should help you miss traffic. avoid that 3 to 8
