storms coming toward wheeling, west virginia now, south of pittsburgh, approaching the pennsylvania turnpike. this is all sticking off to the south. in a few more hours it'll make it into maryland and northern virginia. could be a problem around here for the mid to latter part of the afternoon. i've added the lightning, and a couple of things you're going to notice, there seems to be a lot less of it here in the last half hour. we've seen this line weaken some. the air around us is kind of dry. there's not a lot of low-level moisture, but there is plenty of dynamic energy with this. the storm prediction center has us, at least west of 95 in the slight risk area for severe weather. a main concern, any storms we get could have some damaging wind gusts, hail would be a secondary concern, but this area goes all the way back toward kentucky. so for the afternoon, well, we're going to warm up into the 70s, mid-70s. that's going to help, that threat for some isolated to scattered thunderstorms through the early part of dinner, but by 9:00 we should be done and in the upper 60s. i'll be back with th

this is not the new jersey turnpike. there are no staties around the bend check iing with radar gun. it has nothing to do with earnings. as much as we would like stocks related to the velocity, we actually trade and invest on earnings. right now, as a whole, stocks are cheap relative to where they have traded at other times on earnings. now, every time we divorce valuations from earnings and think about something else, whether it be companies like yelp or pandora that don't have earnings or green mountain coffee, you've got to be careful. tend not to lead us anywhere. but when we measure stocks versus their growth rates, we keep come up with valuations that are frankly, too cheap to ignore. they're very high. -- or earnings versus growth rates. so let's challenge it -- well, let's just take the elephant in the room. let's just address it right now because it's all anybody wants to talk about. so i'm going to give you the skinny. let's talk about apple. yes. apple has a trajectory. does it take your breath away? yes, it s

outsourced work is often subpar and this whole political view that outsourcing whether it's selling turnpikesing prisons or outsourcing part of the military. you know the work is subpar. the cost savings are usually illusory and often the costs are significantly great. the contractors and political contract -- but that happens too often. we go places with outsourcing that does not lead to good government. we also i think, many contractors lack the dedicated service mentality if you will of career civil servants and it's always popular to beat up -- we have gone through that state after state and in the federal government but i like the idea of an individual's motivation to serve our veterans as a career leads to better service contrasted sometimes to services provided by companies that are motivated by some of the most dedicated people that i have ever met. they want to serve in this whole idea that outsourcing saves money, enhances quality and it's pretty ill-founded. the va under veterans is viewed as just another client. we see this at the basic level of services in places like dayton. and
