on uc berkeley's campus. you can see them behind me on the picket line. they have their noise makers, signs and t-shirts. they're ready to walk off the job for two more days after today after what they say are pay disparities. contract negotiations have stalled with the largest union, the federation of state, county and municipal employees. that's the folks on the picket line right here. they're service workers, gardeners and other workers. in total about 50,000 uc workers across 10 campuses will be on strike over what they say is widening gender, racial and income -- 24,000 workers on strike are patient and service workers, 14,000 are nurses and 15,000 are health care research and technical workers. ucfs says it rescheduled 300 surgeries for cancer patients. we spoke to a woman out on the picket line this morning. she's been working at cal for two decades. she said wages aren't keeping up with the cost of living. >> no one wants to go on strike but it's needed because we need to send a message to the univers
