uc berkeley for over. >> 30 years now and i teach ethics. i teach lawoom. in addition to this teaching that i do. and then after my parents died, i said i need a project to honor them. so i put the 2 together and came up with the idea. kindness award because i know there are so many kind acts and are area that aren't getting recognized. we talk about homeless issues. crime and everyone seems very so i thought let's focus also shine a light on all the positive things in the community. yeah. and that was the impetus for starting this. and there really are so many beautiful kind acts that are happening throughout city. there are always a to walk us through some of the folks that would have been the winners. yeah, that's the thing. i mean that people been able to meet people every month that are just >> we had a guy byrne whose for 10 years now every thursday goes to children's hospital. does oregon me with sick i mean, makes such a difference. their lives and we were able to, you know, give him some press on this and it was fantastic to get people to hear

law enforcement and in business negotiation, business negotiation is a lot of the same techniques. is are there are the same they're the same throughout. and so there's a wonderful professor over at uc berkeley who reached out and said, i would love for you to come in and speak to our my business class in business negotiation. so lieutenant anderson provided a powerpoint on all of the topics covered in basically hostage negotiation 101. and gave examples of interaction options and how to persuade people, people to, you know, come up with the decisions almost on their own, but really kind of help guide them. and so they they liked the presentation so much that they they asked us back a second time and then they slotted us for third time as well. so lieutenant anderson could speak more to the actual presentation itself or can send you some documentation on that, or we can get that to the commission. great. thank you. director henderson. great. i just had a comment. i didn't really have a question. i just wanted to point out that even though you guys it's only four people in that unit, this presentation was extremely helpful. but i want to be very specific about why why this is a very
