us online. and save without settling. only on verizon. >>> breaking news right now, where lightning struck a house during today's storm. >> we are live now with the details and garrett, give it to us. show us. >> reporter: yes, scary moment here at this house in north silver spring about an hour ago where lightning struck first going across this tall tree in the backyard and then jumping all the way over into the home here you can see it ripped some of the siding off and even pulled the downspout off. most of the real damage here came from when a branch on that tree came straight down across this backyard fence, wiping out the fence as you can see and doing a lot of damage across the backyard. now the good news is although one person was home at the time, no injuries inside the fire department was able to get here pretty quickly. some fire in the installation but the damage to the inside of the house we're told is relatively minor. incredibly lucky break here after a very scary moment again about an hour ago, when the meat of that storm pulled through. we'll continue to take a look hopefully talk to the homeowner bring you another update as soon as we can get it but for now reporting live
