this is the border of arizona and utah. this is hilldale utah.ountains just to the north and just to the east. and this canyon here is called water canyon. that is very prone to flash flooding. everything that falls in these mountains can quickly rush down and go right through hilldale into colorado city. in the trajectory, the path this took, it was the worst case scenario. it went to the south and they said it on rained 20 to 30 minutes in the city and it went right up the canyon into the mountains and all of that water collects and funnels down and rushes down. that's what they dealt with. 4:00, 5:00 in the afternoon when the roads are the most crowded. it's a small city, around 3,000 people. it's a horrible tragedy. that's like a once in a 100-year event for that area. we do have heavy rain in los angeles. this is good. cooler in the west, chances for showers, even areas near that valley fire had rain yesterday that was much needed. this is great news for firefighters to try to get a grip on was is a very busy fire season. i had our staff put
