vai? >>> fire at a home in kensington. this is the 800 block of eastern cornwall street. the fire broke out just after 11:00 last night. no one there was hurt. >>> today federal investigate ares will try to determine why the landing gear of a jet got stuck. nbc 10's jessie gary is live at the airport. why are the passengers now. their hotel beds after a long, almost three-hour flight to nowhere in particular. we've raeched out to lufthansa officials to see if they have an exact cause as to why the landing gear got stuck. the flight took off at 5:45 yesterday afternoon. the malfunction was detected not long after becoming airborne. the pilot tried to raise the gear but there was no success. they made announcements in english and german that there was a problem and they'd burn as much fuel as possible before returning to philadelphia international airport. the vapor stream was the fuel burn in progress. the passengers are here at the baggage carousals getting their baggage. the airline put u

on meadow lane with south providence road so you can expect to see delays that the intersection, vai. >> thank you, jill. you can see weather-wreaking havoc throughout the area. that area dealing with damage from the overnight storms. nbc10's katy zachry is there. >> reporter: hi, vai, specifically we're in trumbauersville where you can see a path of destruction left by the storms. the people that are here, they are directly next door to the fire department so when the large branches and a large tree fell on the roof, the fire department was able to respond within a matter of minutes and remove the large branches from the roof. out unfortunately, it wasn't the same situation for other people along this stretch who have similar damage. i'm told by the fire chief that his crews, his volunteer crews were delayed getting to the firehouse this morning because of downed trees and downed lines as a result of this storm. thunderstorms rolled through around 2:15. there were reports of hail, very strong wind as you can see, did damage to the trees. we did a quick drive between when we last saw

vai?>>> new castle county this morning, search and rescue crews are searching for survivors in this deadly fire and building collapse in wilmington, delaware. the flames broke out at a home on the 100 block of bird street and maryland avenue. jesse gary is at the scene. >> reporter: they have found what they believe to be the lone fatality where that light source is. let's take a look at our video. flames started around 10:30 last night at a single family home, 100 bird street. the fire chief tells me there were heavy flames and a lot of smoke. two women were injured and rushed to area hospitals, one to christiana and one to krojer medical center. >> in this case because of the collapse, those were hindered. we had to get more water on to the fire and control the collapse. also the exposure, the structures that were next to the building started to show lean and some areas that looked like they could fall in as well. we had to shore them up before we could get into the building. >> the crew

this is good news for veterans. >> it is, vai.he biggest thing that sets this apart, veterans coming to cooper looking for primary care, they will be seen the same day. this is is big, considering the wait time and experience at v.a. hospitals in our area. let's take a look at some of the areas dealing with the wait times. a veteran seeking primary care has to wait an average for 43 days to be seen. it's 25 days in new jersey. for mental health appointments it's longer. it's nearly seven weeks for specialty care. there's been a renewed focus on veterans medical air after the v.a. hospital scandal surfaced earlier. from that we know up to 40 veterans died while possibly waiting for care. recently 100 v.a. hospitals were flagged for further review after an audit, including some hospitals in new jersey and pennsylvania. doctors at cooper have created this program where veterans would not have to wait for primary care. they would be seen the same day. more details will be announced at a press conference scheduled later today at 2:00.
