vai sikahema is tracking the developments in our digital operations center. >> reporter: this may be odd to those of us who watch and observe court hearings here in the u.s. but this is just how they do it there. the judge started reading the verdict yesterday and just wrapped up this morning and somewhere embedded in her notes is the verdict. pistorius is found guilty of culpable homicide, which is equivalent to manslaughter here in the u.s. system. yesterday that judge said that he was not guilty of murder but she did say he was negligent. almost as if she was hinting that he would be guilty on the lesser charge. pistorius shot and killed steenkamp on valentine's day 2013. he says he fired through the bathroom door because he thought she was an intruder. phase. pistorius faces a maximum of 15 years in prison but in their system it's up to the judge's discretion so it could be years. live in the digital operations center, vai sikahema, nbc 10. >>> a convicted killer who escaped from this prison in northwestern ohio has been captured. t.j. lane escaped from the prison in lima, ohio,

tell us why. >> reporter: vai, there's a possibility of an illegal hookup. let me move out of the way and you can see what's going on. they're bringing out debris while the fire marshals go inside to try to determine the cause. the fire commissioner said the electric service to the burned property had been shut you have at least twice before. there's a possibility the power lines were hooked up illegally. let's look at the first video. i just talked to one of the distraught relatives, a grandfather of the teen who loves his life. they say there was no electric service inside the home, that the victim and his mother share. his mother is currently in the hospital in an unrelated matter. they say they were both living by candlelight, and that may be the cause of the fire. now, firefighters found the body of an 18-year-old male in a first floor front room. neighbors tell me they were alerted to trouble by an orange glow outside their windows this morning. >> i saw the flames over the side window. the smoke wasn't in my house enough for the alarms to go off. >> r

vai? >> yeah, chris, according to investigators, tollison duped people into buying tickets to sporting events and then keeping the cash himself. according to the authorities, the investigators, tollison told those people that the money would go to charity, but they say tollison kept the cash himself and the buyers did not get the packages that they actually paid for. and police say this happened over the course of a three-year period. some of those charities connected with the scam include the special olympics, also the salvation army. another was the brad fox foundation, named for a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. the investigation shows that there are more than 100 victims in this case. today's trial is being held in doylestown. i'm vai sikahema, live in the digital operations center, nbc 10. >>> there are still no suspects this morning in the murder of a philadelphia woman who was shot while walking her dog. it happened saturday night along morse street in the strawbe

vai? >> thank you, jillian. >>> new information in the ray rice scandal. tmz is reporting that the nfl never requested the video that shows rice knocking his fiancee unconscious inside an elevator in an atlantic city casino. chris cato joins us live from our digital operation center. chris, this is true. raises question of the nfl integrity of the investigation. >> two-game suspension a punishment widely criticized and one roger goodell admitted two weeks ago was insufficient. this latest report raises questions on how far goodell went as far as hwhat was happening inside that elevator. never requested revel to acquire the video showing rice punching palmer and knocking her off the feet out cold. the league did ask law enforcement for any and all information pertaining to the incident, but it never asked the casino and never asked rice's attorney. he also had a copy of the video. tmz says its source inside revel says that the casino would have provided the tape to the nfl. the nfl has not yet commented on this most recent tnz report which is breaking this

i'm vai sikahema. two people have been killed in yesterday's tour bus accident in newcastle county. 23 patients are still in the hospital, one person remains in critical condition. that information just in from tim furlong. the crash happened just after 4:00 yesterday afternoon on route 1 and redline road in bear, delaware. rosemary connors has been gathering information from christiana hospital where many crash victims are being treated. >> reporter: 26 people, so about half of the passengers were brought here to christiana hospital, and that includes the second woman who passed away overnight. the view from skyforce 10 shows how serious this crash was. we do know the names of those two women killed. they've been identified by delaware state police as 54-year-old hua chen of new york city. she was trapped under the bus and a 30-year-old from istanbul, turkey. it was 4:30 yesterday afternoon when this tour bus carrying 50 people, including the driver, flipped over onto the grass next to the off-ramp fr
