vai sikahema is live in our digital operation with more. >> the announcement came last night a little after 9:00 eastern time. but right now firefighters and police are still on the streets of ferguson dealing with the chaos. take a look at this video, coming out of ferguson. it is hard to turn away from some protesters taunted police and taunting officers with bottles and setting a police cruiser on fire and other broke windows and vandalized cars and within a few hours at least a dozen buildings were set on fire. firefighters let some of them burn because someone fired shots at them. so they had to be concerned about their own safety. people say they heard hundreds of gunshots throughout the evening. officers in riot gear used tear gas to try to disperse some of the crowds. other groups helped peaceful demonstrations with signs demanding justice and condemning the police. >> know that there is at least a dozen buildings that have been set on fire. most of those are total losses. and i can tell you that i personally heard about 150 shots fired. >> despite the overnight violence, poli

good morning, i'm vai sikahema. but don't get used to the mild temperatures. we're tracking a storm that will bring snow to at least a part of our area. nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here now with more on this wild week. glenn? >> yeah, vai, definitely wild. we were near record cold on saturday morning, record warmth today, and now we have a first alert issued for wednesday and wednesday night. a wet travel day, one of the busiest days of the year. it will be wet just about everywhere, rain changing to snow in much of the area, and some accumulation. the potential for some pretty significant accumulation as the storm develops off the southeast coast, brings rain up at first, but as the storm intensifies offshore, it brings the colder air in and changes rain to snow. so if it intensifies the most, of course, we get more snow farther out to sea, less snow. it is looking like it's going to at least produce some snow, even in the philadelphia area and much more significant snow to the north and west. look at this, we're alrea
