valerie jarrett has said this is going to help. small businesses get their stuff, get their paper work together, implement all of this stuff. valerie jarrett says don't worry, this is good for the economy and the government. >> we wish the administration would work with us. they passed this health care bill without any of our input and now they're making several modifications to it. i would certainly like to know what else they have in mind. for example, if businesses have a waiver with regard to they don't have to pay a penalty for the next year but they encourage businesses to go ahead and do this, what does this mean to the individual? the individual mandate is still in place. what happens if an employee does not have insurance? will they end up being spobs for a fine? -- responsible for a fine? the administration announced some will have that fine waived for a year. there are other questions in place. we don't really have the exchanges ready yet. these were supposed to be ready october 1. i'm not sure the whole health care bill

white house senior adviser valerie jarrett is framing this move as an indication that the administrations the affordable care act. here are the facts. the employer responsibility provision applies to businesses with 50 or more full-time employees and right now well over 90% of those businesses already offer health insurance coverage. by choice. so this is less than an issue of practical impact than it is about what the political implications may be right now because, as you might expect, the g.o.p. and opponents of healthcare reform are jumping all over this announcement as some indication that reform is failing. the treasury department says meanwhile, it is going to have more details about how it will implement the now delayed mandate later this summer that will now be delayed until 2015. again, this may just be a p.r. miscalculation. we'll talk more about that when we come back on the show. another "washington post" abc news poll shows the public thinks the supreme court got it right when it comes to same-sex marriage but not necessarily right when it comes to the voting rights act dec

valerie jarrett who seems to wear the pants at the white house said employer mandate would be delayedgoes. it's going to drive lots of people toward the exchanges. >> you're saying these are going to be problematic these changes. >> there are about 13.5 million people who thought they were going to get covered on their retail job, service job, hotel job and they're not. the reason the administration did this, they went to the nfl, they went to the nba, they couldn't get one of these organizations to help them woo young people into these plans that really don't make a lot of sense financially for them. now they said, let's cancel the employer mandate and all these young healthy people who work in hotels and restaurants and in sales jobs, some of them will just pay the $95 penalty the first year but some will go to the exchange. >> i should point out your copy of obama care is dog-eared. >> that's why i wrote the book to help people through these land mines. >>> they plan a massive protest. we are live in cairo with the latest on that unrest. >>> what was it like inside the plane that c

questions about the administration's decision, the president's senior advisor, val i will jarrett, said -- and i quote -- valerie jarret said -- and i quote -- "we are listening." while referring to the concerns of the business community over the onerous employer mandate that will result in fewer jobs and employees working fewer hours. we've been listening as well, and as more employers have attempted to understand the burdensome requirements in the president's health care law, the louder their outrain outrage ha. in particular, small- to medium-sized businesses are simply drowning, drowning in their efforts to understand all the regulations. we're also listening to the views of the american people. a recent gallup poll from this week show that a majority of americans still disapprove of the health care law. the survey showed that 55% of respondents disapprove of obamacare. a gallup survey last month revealed that for every one person who believes they will be better off under obamacare, two believe they will be worse off. opposition to the health care law is growing, and it will continue to grow as more america
