vaughn, good to see you this morning. let's start there in arizona. lawyers staying away from this election integrity effort. give us the back story and why they're choosing to keep their distance. >> right, i've been in arizona the last week, just got back here to new york. one of the things i was finding kari lake is very much the kari lake of 2022. she she's a also claiming there are efforts underway using ballots to cheat, keep her from winning the senate and keep donald trump from winning the state of arizona. part of what i founds is there's right now no arizona republican lawyers that are there ready to defend or bring any of these cases on her behalf here. i talked to three of them who were involved previously in election cycles in 2020, 2022, and of course the rnc has built-up this election integrity operation so they could keep the fraud from happening on the front end instead of litigating it on the back end, so they say. right now those republican lawyers say they've stayed away because of kari's lake's penchant to bring lawsuits. one she

let's start with you, vaughn. donald trump's schedule, walk us through what he's doing in michigan and this media strategy where he's seeming only to be talking to fox news. >> number one, oakland county is his first stop, the suburbs northwest of detroit. oakland county is where vice president harris will be later this evening. if you look at a place like oakland county, it's representative of those metropolitan suburbs that he and reasons have increasingly lost over the years. it used to be a republican stronghold. then in 2016, he lost that county by 8 percentage points. in 2020, he lost by 14 percentage points. he really needs to win back some of those suburbs to pull off a michigan win. tonight he's rallying in detroit, a part of their strategy for the trump campaign is to get some of those low propensity voters, voters that don't often turn out to come and back in, even if they didn't in 2016, 2020, don't have historical voting record. as for his media strategy and the strategy as a whole, it's sort of, you

vaughn hilliard is with us this morning. vaughn, great seeing you.ke to several trump supporters. what did they have to say? >> reporter: right, jose. we're looking at the early ballot returns here in arizona, and one week into early voting we have seen republican voters turn their ballots back in by mail or come to early ballot locations by a nearly 2 to 1 margin by democrats. it was flipped that in 2020 where democrats one weekend were outpacing republicans 2 to 1. a large part of that has to do with donald trump this go around urging folks to vote by mail or early voting. if you're looking at arizona whichever way maricopa went, the state went. but in 2020 donald trump lost maricopa county but effectively won the state because he was able to juice places like here in 2020 which he won by 75% of the vote. a record number of republicans turning out. we went to a couple of early voting locations, and sea lengthy lines. during the lunch hour 30 people waiting in line. we should note we did not find a single person who told us audibly they would vote f
