good evening, i'm veronica de la cruz. >> i'm allen martin.ws to report from the front lines of that big wildfire in the santa cruz mountains. first of all i can tell you the "loma fire" appears to be laying down. minutes ago we learned it is now 50% contained. 12 homes were destroyed. for the first time, kpix 5 reporter kiet do was able to do some investigating on how this fire may have started. kiet. >> reporter: yeah, the 1st inning link we got that something was cooking up here was when she saw sheriff's deputies dressed in full camouflage heading into the command area with the mobile unit and then today we were required to have a media escort. they were given specific instructions to keep us out of certain areas! it made us wonder, how does marijuana fit into the big picture of the "loma fire"? we kept hearing about something and finally on day 5 had to go looking. it didn't take long to find it. marijuana farms are booming in the santa cruz mountains. the fires destroyed this greenhouse on loma chiquita road with will 40 plants inside. i

good evening, i'm veronica de la cruz. >> i'm ken bastida in for allen martin.ar the emergency room at the contra costa regional medical center. kpix 5's christin ayers reports from the scene where many of the patients had to be moved to the upper floors. >> reporter: the evacuation order was lifted a short time ago at the height of the fire up to 300 employees and patients evacuated from the hospital. firefighters telling me this all started on the second floor of the hospital in the boiler room. the issue seems to have been with a damaged fuel line. it left gas spewing fuel while that fire was in progress. firefighters were able to get it under control after about half an hour when they shut that fuel off. >> we looked at it and we can't tell whether or not the fire started in the fuel lines and then spread or if there was a fire in the boiler that spread and then damaged the fuel lines causing them to leak. it's one of those two things. at this point we don't suspect any foul play. >> reporter: some surgery patients who were on the second floor when that fire
