now let's check in with vianey arana and our weekend forecast. we both saw a lot of rain coming in this morning. you said maybe when everyone else was asleep, that was the worst of it. >> we had the heavy pockets that moved in overnight. still right now we have light to moderate in some areas, but heavy in others. this is palo alto. limited visibility for folks out there. remember that ponding walte ini slow it down. be careful out there. look how much moeisture we have from northern california down to southern california. yes, those are lightning strikes. lightning strikes over half moon bay. pleasanton as well. earlier i saw strikes over the livermore area. safety first. if you see a lightning strike, i know it will be tempting to take photos, head inside. it's better to be safe. we will keep the chance of possible isolated thunderstorms into the mid afternoon. as far as how the stormranger is capturing our storm, we saw the heaviest of the rain move in a lot of those pockets are in the east. it is moving quickly in through the east bay. seeing

vianey, you've got a look at the commute. so far so good? >> we're doing pretty good and right as i was walking over here, look what popped up on the map, this is along the bay bridge. i'm going to have to look into that, chp, see what they're reporting. i see not one, not two but three icons. this looks like it might just be a stalled vehicle, but it looks like we have two crashes approaching the toll plaza. so i will definitely be looking into that. the rest of the bay area check out the south bay, green sensors, even the east bay, although i will say this, we are starting to notice some slowing. let's look right now at the drive times, because the bay bridge right now you can see westbound 80 toward the bay bridge looking at 14 minutes. remember that's where the little kind of traffic collisions icons popped up so i'm going to look into that. westbound 82 toward the san mateo bridge looking at 12 minutes. westbound 580 toward the richmond bridge eight minutes and a live look at a building commute in the south bay, at least it's flowing al

vianey, you've been busy this morning and the commute is stacking up. >> it is.t of a mess right now. look at the bay area, i have a crash that popped up in the south bay that i noticed one popping up here in fremont, but right now, our hot spot seems to be your drive in to san francisco, in all directions. unfortunately, we've got a crash right now that just popped up along westbound 880, right near the 580 interchange. the right-hand shoulder is blocked, and you could see just how heavy the delays are, backed up, so if you're driving on to the bay bridge, the metering lights have been on for a while. it's just a bit of a mess on the bay bridge in general. also the peninsula your drive into the city, seeing major delays because we have a stalled vehicle and three crashes along northbound 101 at millbrae avenue, the number one lane is blocked. look how heavy the delays. there is no chance to recover. behind that we have another crash and we have more slowing and this is getting on the san mateo bridge along westbound 92, before the 14b exit on chess drive. the nu

vianey arana has the forecast. it's the first day of spring, we're wearing flowers. >> and it's raining outside. notice the movement of that front. it moved in yesterday, now it's beginning to move southward. yesterday the biggest impacts were seen in the north bay with the highest rain totals through that area, between two to three inches in some spots. far up into the north bay and higher elevations. look at the storm moving southward. that means we're still seeing a couple pockets of heavy downpours pushing through. made its way through san jose. now moving into san carlos. santa cruz getting some light to moderate rain. we can expect and continue to see this system make its way out. novato had some heavy pockets of rain, so did napa. that's pushing east into fairfield, concord getting some showers, and danville. as far as the afternoon goes, i have some good news. a lot of this rain will move out by midmorning, we'll have partly cloudy skies and our temperatures will be cool today, but is this unsettled weather
