vianey arana joins with us a look at your microclimate forecast. hey, vianey. >>> good morning. it is father's day. look at this great shot over hayes valley in san francisco. how are your temperatures going to be? comfortable weather, partly clear skies. we'll remain in the 60s. cooler compared to yesterday for the coast. however, if you have an inland area, and by inland, concord, the south bay, antioch, gilroy, we will be warming up into the 80s, upper 80s, and low 90s. expect sunny but warm temperatures. if you are grilling with dad we will be in the 80s so hopefully you have a pool in areas with 90s because it will be a fantastic day for that. overall, though, great weather expected for today. and then we go into a stretch of hot temperatures again. happy father's day. >> happy father's day indeed. we'll see you in about 15 minutes. the marathon of demonstrations continues in the bay area. yesterday thousands of people turned out to continue their call for an end to police brutality. hundreds of people caravanned across the bay bridge from berkeley causing a traffic backup

vianey is tracking the temperatures for us. it is going to be the hottest day of the week, we have to get ready. >> summer decided to make its arrival a couple days early and it is making for a pretty nice over belvedere. sunny skies and little bit of orange hue throughout the bay area and here's a little bit of a sneak peek of the temperature trend that we're tracking. 80s by 1:00 and eventually upper 90s in the forecast. i'll talk about that and the stretch of heat, how long is it going to last. mike? >> we're looking over here where most of the bay area looks great as far as the speeds go. we'll take you to the peninsula, two issues continue for highway 101. we'll zoom over here. we have at the top of your screen north 101 at third. this is san mateo crash in the middle of the roadway and big rig involved on either side. and 101 at woodside and involving concrete debris in the southbound side might be the issue. san jose circling the area where we have the breaking news for that and headed right back to you. >>> that breakin

vianey arana has a look at the forecast. it's nice when you kick off the weekend with nice, cool temperatures. >>> i agree. even though we have to trade in some of the calmer weather when it comes to the winds, we get the cooldown and it will feel comfortable especially if you have any plans to be outdoors, jog or workout. 77 degrees in san jose. these are predicted highs for this afternoon. 78 in morgan hill. los gatos, 79. check out the east bay into the interior valley. concord yesterday managed to hit the triple digits. today upper 70s. oakland, 68. into the peninsula and the bay as well, 69. san francisco, 67. and up to the north bay 79 for santa rosa. now this is only setting us up for a lovely weekend ahead of cooler weather but rain chances. i'll get more into detail coming up. mike? >>> watch for that. that will affect folks getting on the road. there are more folks on the roads these days. this week was different from the trend we've been seeing for over a month. the curfew has some people adjusting their schedule.

a little cooler, right, vianey? >> just a little bit. i wish i could say we're going to see the 70s, but we have to wait for the weekend for that. 63 degrees right now in san jose. 59 in oakland. 58 in livermore. i want to show you the 24-hour temperature change to give you an idea of how much we cooled down compared to the last 24 hours. san jose five degrees, and oakland, five degrees. what are we expecting for today? well, a lot less triple digits but we will be in the upper 90s in the interior valleys. san jose, 92. and then we're going to cool down by as much as 20 to 25 degrees into the weekend, plus we are talking about rain chances. i will get you more details on that, but first let's check in with mike. >> wow, rain. that's a change. not a big change on the roadways, and in fact some of the slowing showed up early, guys. as we look at the maps, we have no problems with the freeway speeds. there's a crash near santa clara street and allen rock, causing some slowing and that's about it. we have a fire around the silver creek area,

let's get to vianey high above the south bay somewhere. vianey. >> hey there.ood evening or almost at this point good night, terry. now, we have already seen some gusty conditions, but it's going to remain gusty through tomorrow. let's get right to it. san francisco, current temperature 56 degrees. we did hit a high of 74. current wind speeds, about 17 miles per hour. taking a look right now over san jose, 61 degrees. we hit a high of 86. light winds through there but areas like walnut creek right now, we're still seeing gusting winds upwards of 29, 30-plus miles per hour with a high of 84 for this afternoon. let's take a look at satellite radar. we got some good clearing inland today but once again tonight we'll see some of that fog make its return. a little bit of a marine layer around the coastline, which could also mean drizzle for areas like san francisco, santa cruz, and half moon bay early on. as we head towards sunday, we're talking about cooler temperatures thanks to this dry cold front that swept through. that's what kicked up our winds. here's a look

vianey in for kari this morning. vianey, we'll have to get ready for the heat today. >>> hopefully your ac works and you have some sort of fan if you don't live by the coast because it is definitely going to get a lot warmer. let's look at the hour-by-hour outlook. we have 50s right now, cool and comfortable. and then the 60s right around 8:30. look at what happens right around lunch time. 12:00 already in the 80s. those are 90s on the map. that's about 15 degrees warmer compared to yesterday. i'll go into more detail on how long this stretch of warm weather will last. let's check in with mike. >>> a slower drive out of livermore. overall the speeds look great on the maps. we're not showing a major problem and we are looking at persistent slowing for 84 coming down to 680. there were some earlier brushfires, talking about red flag warning and fireworks reported. aunt jemima no more. from its syrup and pancake mix acknowledging they have been doing this, the 130-year-old brand is based on a racial stereotype. aunt jem

meteorologist rob mayeda is in for vianey with a look at our microclimate forecast. it felt humid out there which is not very typical for us. >> to start out the morning with misty skies, near 60s is not too typical for us. it's a little muggy. san francisco, you have some mist there on the camera lens. not a lot of wind to start the day. san jose more overcast skies and, yes, with the clouds, morning low temperatures near 60 degrees. it's probably going to take a little while before they break up around the south bay. then get into the afternoon, see the clearing and our temperatures are going to stay relatively muggy probably through about mid morning. you'll notice it's still in the 70s by noon and then the skies start to clear and we get the sunshine. the areas in orange you see 80s showing up in the valleys today. the seven-day forecast moving forward as you're about to see the temperatures climbing wednesday and thursday. we're talking about a chance of 90s making a comeback. coming up in about 15 minutes we'll take a look at the time line and how long the heat
