the first incident happened about two weeks ago in vienna. e other -- and yesterday two more attacks were reported in nearby fairfax uconty. now investigators are working out to find out if these cases are connected. fox 5's john henrehan reports. >> reporter: the washington old dominion trail named after the old railroad that used to run here is a very popular biking and jogging pathway, b because most of the trail is not visible from nearby houses, it can offer good cover for an assailant. the first attack occurred on wednesday, july 15 in the town of vienna. a woman jogger told police a man on a bike got off, exposed himself, threw her to the ground, got on top of her. the jogger was able to break free and run away. the thursday incidents began around noon near mile marker 15 on the trail not far from hunter mill road in fairfax county. a 24-year-old woman told police a man on a bicycle approached her, exposed himself and fled on the bike. less than an hour later, two young women were accosted at mile marker 13 closer to vienna. >> they we

the deadly accident happened here near the vienna metro station. a veteran track repairman was killed on the job along the above ground stretch of the orange line. tonight 63-year-old michael nash's wife is demanding answers. cleo nash said her husband wasn't supposed to be at work but decided to work overtime. his wife said, quote, "he loved his job and worked constantly and was a hard worker. he was working overtime sunday and went to work early. he was supposed to start at 10:00 p.m. the accident happened at 9:50. i am saddened and devastated." metro says the accident is still in the beginning stages of the investigation. the general manager explaine that nash was hit by a machine that rides the rails. he was working with a crew of 10 to 15 people. as a result metro has ordered a safety stand down forcing employees to stop work and go through mandatory retraining. all the alarms and equipment apparently worked properly sunday night. >> it's the type of operation that you cannot be distracted, even for a small period of time. and that's one of th
