if governor romney can get those votes plus virginia around north carolina, that would get him to 266 the east, he would need just one more. any one of the remaining states, if governor romney can do florida, virginia, north carolina and ohio, any one of the remaining states would put him over the top. that's what makes this one so, so important. so if he does that, then he's got a pretty interesting terrain. he's competitive in colorado, this one tends to be leaning democratic. the romney campaign says it's competitive, but consistent polling in the wisconsin. this one here, romney campaign says it's competitive, let's for hypothetical let's say that's a safer pick to give that to the president. i'm going to take it back and make it a tossup state again. i was in colorado recently. this is a true toss-up. for the sake of argument say governor romney gets that. then you're out here in the east again, 253, 257. for the sake of argument give that to the president, you're at 259, 257. who wins nample? only four. that could be a critical one there. this is the biggest one of all. governor

florida, virginia, north carolina, ohio. these four states still not called in the race.are too close to call. if romney were to win those four states he would have to win that combination. you could then add on heated the state of nevada, colorado, or ir six alleged oral votes and you would top the 270 mark which would be a scenario for on romney when. again, still too close to call. it is not too late to say that there are still some scenarios for mitt romney to pull off a victory. one other thing i want to point out as we look at the state of florida, we were talking earlier about the high hispanic population in the state. you can now see that in the key metropolitan areas, miami has turned blue. obviously an obama victory. tampa, orlando, a key areas that we talked about earlier. obama has won in those key counties in the state of florida, although the state is still too close to call. i wanted to point that out ca

it seems like mitt romney -- according to most -- needs to have florida, virginia, north carolina to win. the president spending some time in florida and more time in virginia getting a big rally. the crowd in virginia, the president got a big rally the last couple of days. is it likely -- i know you think governor romney will win those states -- but how likely is it that they are in jeopardy? >> i think that florida is clearly in the wrong category. he just had another survey out this morning showing romney did well at 247. if you add in chris's statement about who is likely to be pulled, and it's a pretty good sign for romney. virginia is clearly closer. obama did very well in 2008. in northern virginia and hampton roads area with the navy bases. there has been some erosion for him in virginia. the balance of polling in my judgment has tended to favor romney. but by a very close margin. if obama can carry virginia, that its 13 electoral votes that mitt romney really needs to have to 270. i think that is the reason his campaign is there. early voting was down in democratic stronghold
