chief meteorologist gee vytas reid joins us with the sky watch forecast. vytas? >> see relief from the heat as we get down the road a bit. but tomorrow another hot and humid day. and it has helped to fire off a lot of storms over the west. violent line of storms pushing through southern illinois, indiana, kentucky and then also portions of western tennessee. this activity is going to continue to push south. for us relatively quiet conditions. we had pop-up showers earlier today. but we can see the temperatures across the area. 81 in baltimore downtown on. 79 in d.c. 79 in hagerstown. and nice warm up tomorrow with the temperatures getting into the lower 90s. but tomorrow afternoon, looking at the thunderstorms firing up across the area. we could get severe weather to watch out for. by mid afternoon. so we keep an eye to the sky. but looks like a break from some of the heat. as we get into thursday. i will have a closer look at it and the weekend outlook coming up in the seven-day forecast in a few moments. >> all right. vytas, thank you. >> despite opposition the

vytas reid is here with a look at the forecast. vytas, what do you say, busy. >> storms fired up and gave us lightning and gusty winds and heavy downpours of rain because of the heat and oh humidity out there. charging up the atmosphere. most of the severe weather now has lessened as we have seen the thunderstorms breakup through the overnight. and it looks like we will continue to see just a few scattered showers out there. sky watch hd radar shows a few light showers north of cockeysville and towson. near parkton. continue to see this activity push across the bay. heaviest showers right now sitting over toward denton and cambridge, and easton and salisbury. we will continue to see those be steady showers. but heavier showers are over in delaware, and millsboro. and we will continue to see this activity push east. and looking at the lightning data. you can see how the lightning makes the way across the bay and dies out. so relatively quiet as we go through the overnight. but still a potential of getting more storm activity into th

vytas joining us now with the latest information. what do you say.orter: especially in the midwest. in fact look at this aerial shot. this is in louisville kentucky where parts of i 65 were actually shut down from heavy torrential rainfall that came down. look at the heavy water that moved into their area. they saw anywhere from 5 to 7 inches of rainfall in a short period of time with very strong thovrments in fact look at the line of strong thunderstorm activity moving through louisville, kentucky. you can see they got pummelled with heavy rain. that's not the only place. folks up in indianapolis gusty winds and to cincinnati and date on, on, ohio and a lot of activity with the system moving in. the bigger picture you can see all the heavy rain that is moving over parts of ohio river valley down into the tennessee valley. most of the energy is south but we are affected by this activity as we get into tomorrow afternoon with potential for thunderstorms. we had a pop up shower and thunderstorms over in harper county moving into cecil county fallen apa

vytas. >> jennifer and jeff. watching closely this storm. meandering out there for the last day or so. looking at tropical storm danny out in the atlantic. with winds sustained at 46 miles per hour. gusting to 58 miles per hour. the potential is that this could become a category one storm as we continue to monitor this storm as it makes the track up through the atlantic. warm ocean waters out there of the left over from what bill pushed through the. but the track from the hurricane center is taking it up off the coast of delmarva, few hundred miles. and this is saturday afternoon. category one storm. but watch it closely. within the shade of blue here is potential track. it could go west or further east. so folks out there in the eastern shore, especially in salisbury and out in ocean city and ra hoe bath and bethany beach, those areas, definitely watch this. and continuation of this track can take it further north. may affect folks up in boston by late saturday night to sunday morning. so we have to watch this closely. talking about the dif

chief meteorologist vytas reid has a look at the sky watch forecast. vytas, you have been biz all week. >> the key word, what you said is region. because actually there was going to be showers and thunderstorms here in baltimore. but boy they fizzled out. so forecast was a bust for baltimore as far as getting any rain, tonight any sustained rain. still light chance for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. but mainly the showers and thunderstorms look like they are to the south of us. in southern maryland. so some folks in maryland are getting showers at this time. you see the hd radar, few rumbles of thunder and west of dc. and putting it into motion. it looks like the activity approximate picked up pace toward charlottesville and west ofrism mond. but around baltimore, hard to try to organize as far as the thunderstorm activity. you can see a lot of heavy thunderstorms in richmond and norfolk, where they have seen heavy downpours of rain and gusty winds. so we are still not out of the woods totally. we still have warm temperatures out there at 81 in balti

chief meteorologist vytas reid joins us with the severe weather. >> very strong storms pushed through earlier today. there were very gusty thunderstorms west of salisbury. there were tornado warnings earlier from this activity that is now moving east of ocean city. it is starting to lose strength. showers and thunderstorms in the southern tip. we'll continue to see activity move down over the basin and into the chesapeake bay. looks like back to the northwest we had a line trying to gather strength. that is falling apart as it acrosses over into maryland from pennsylvania. had lightning strikes, but it looks like the strength is lessning as the sun sets and it looses its strength. lightning data showing nothing out there. we did have lightning strikes a few hours ago. you can see the remaining strikes over the border. it looks like things will quiet down as we get into the overnight and things will set up to a relatively decent day. 77 right now in baltimore. 77 in d.c. it looks like overnight tonight we'll see a chance for a little pop-up shower. mainly to the south of us. northwest
