at 730, a 15 year old was killed in a crash in walnut creek early sunday morning. police say the car,ith five people inside, was headed west on newell avenue when it crashed into a pillar under 680 around 230 in the morning. the 15 year old passenger was killed. three other people in the car fled,ncding the driver. they were picke up by a relative who ok them to a hospital inan jose. that hospital then contacted police. the juvenile driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. police in san francisco say the number of homicides in the city this year has dropped to a number not seen in decades. sfpd says there have been 34 homicides in san francisco in 2024. that's down from 51 a year ago and is reportedly the lowest number since 1960. the police department says its homicide unit has a 9,094% clearance rate, in addition to homicides and violent crime, the department says every category of crime has seen a decrease in the past year, including organized retail theft and car burglaries. >> good morning. i think one of the most important things that is be

lot new at 11, a man was found at the walnut creek bart station overnight stabbed. authorities say they >> found a man in a bathroom at the station shortly before midnight and then took him to the hospital and are still looking into how and where this man was stabbed. the passenger on board a san francisco bound train called dispatch about the man and what appeared to be a stab wound getting off the train at the walnut creek station. investigators have only described the victim as a man in his 40's. his condition is not known. >> milpitas police are investigating the death of 4 people as a murdersuicide. today officers identified those victims as 36 year-old. then when his wife betty pham and their 2 children, a 9 year-old boy and 4 year-old girl. police say they found the family dead at the touring apartments on mccandless drive just before 9 o'clock tuesday night. they went there for a welfare check. family member called police saying they had not heard from their relatives for some time. police identified the father as the suspect in this case. they believe he sh
