prince georges county police are canvassing a neighborhood in fort washington, maryland after a body was discovered there. maureen umeh has the latest. >> reporter: and investigators continue to arrive on the scene. we're not told much what is going on. earlier today, they got an anonymous call, someone saying they would find a body at the bottom of the well on private property here and show you some video that we shot. the property is on the 11900 block of old fort road in fort washington, sitting off of the road in the heavily wooded area. the house appears empty if not abandoned and we could not tell. prince georges county police tell me they dropping a camera into the 30-foot well on the property to see what, if anything, they can find and whatever is down there. with prince georges county police, we have seen alexander police on the scene, although it's not known why they are here in prince georges county for the case. and we're hoping to be briefed on any new information soon. prince georges county officials are arriving on the scene and hope to -- the next few minutes. in the

last week -- harris' body was found last week in a well on an abandoned property near fort washington, maryland. because of dangerous conditions inside the well, investigators were not able to identify the body until this weekend. harris was last seen alive september 21st in oldtown, alexandria. >>> it was a deadly weekend on the area roadways. nine people were killed in four separate accidents. early saturday morning, four people were killed in and diocesan an accident on route 50 in davidsonville. police say a car driven by 55- year-old terry davis was hit head-on by another car driving in the wrong direction. three teenagers in that car died on the scene. >>> also on saturday, two people were killed in an accident on route 544 in queen anne's county. maryland state police say a woman accidentally hit a hunter who was walking in the roadway. she went you out to the help him and then both the driver and hunter were hit by another vehicle. the driver stayed on the scene. >>> in the district, a police chase yesterday ended with two people dead and three others injured. this happened around 3:30

fox 5s stacey cohan is following the story and joins us live now from fort washington, maryland. good morning, stacy. >> reporter: good morning, wisdom. this is an unusual case where police get an anonymous call to come out to the property. it's an abandoned house off of old fort road here in fort washington, and the caller said there was a body in the well. now, there is quite a recovery operation underway here on old fort road. it's very extensive, the work that they have to do. investigators have to lower a camera 20 feet down into the well to determine if indeed, there was a body. they did confirm that and however, excavating the body or extracting the body will be a job. alexandrea policer want scene out here and that is because they have a high-profile missing person's case. the 53-year-old lenny harris disappeared on september 21st. his car was located in this area. they don't know yet if that is the body of lippy harris, but they're -- lenny harris but they're curious to discover that. meanwhile, we spoke with someone who knows the harris family. >> and me heart goes out
