it's just kind of how the web works now. i think one of the most important elements is that it's easy for you to fall into the trap that, you know, everyone used to come to our site and look at our content structured in our way. there will be people who will do that. but also, you need to be able to think about your content in an atomic way. you know, these atomic units that travel throughout this curated web. there will be a group of people who are really passionate about something. for example, on flipboard, i found a magazine this morning called " middle east for the perplexed." it's a guy hand picking great content from around the world, about the middle east, to help explain it to normal people without all the hype. that's a really big deal. that idea that that person is forming a new node in this curated web, with a collection of all this great content. so for publishers, it's really important to think about that. they might be on facebook or twitter or linkedin or all of the above. that's just how the web works now. >

we do not have anything like that on the web. it is getting better. but back when we were starting flip board for years ago the web looked like it was frozen in the mid-90's. we wanted to say if you are going to build a new web today you would optimize it for mobile touchscreen devices. the reason why magazines are beautiful is in part, they do not have to have a lot of ui controls you don't have to have a navigation bar. just great content. you use your finger to flip through pages of content. that is something we wanted. with a touchscreen device, you can lose all of the user interface and have that beauty. the other really important thing is the power of people. people know how to tell a story. they know what makes a good story. we wanted to leverage social -- the idea that the web is becoming, not just the connection of an article to another article, which is a very part of full thing -- very apparent thing -- very powerful thing but a person to a group of people. i you not think that we has an industry have begun to grasp how par for that is. --
